20:03 If you go by HSR, it's station to station. By taxi / car, it's point to point. Also, tracks are straight forward. Roads / highways may be devious esp in a city. There may also be shortcuts, The max speed of China's HSR normally clocks at 350 km/hr. Automobiles has speed restrictions lower than top HSR speed. So it's not easy to compare the travelling time between the 2 modes of transportation.

if you miss the train in China, just go to customer service, they will issue you a new ticket for free as I remember. And also you can get 80%refund if you return the ticket

In some occasions, it could be even better than Taiwan. The only thing that is not ideal is that many people don't speak English. And the signs in public places are often only in Chinese.
