There was a report recently informing that they have no other choice. Prisons, jails are full. There are not enough employees to man the ones we have now. No one wants to do that job for the pay that is offered. Take a look at what's happening. Police are critized and fired, over worked, under paid, unappreciated, and in grave danger all day. Guards too. Soon only the very worst will remain incarcerated if we are lucky. The cops will quit. Why work under these conditions. There is too much wrong with this system to be fixed by anyone.

And it provides NO deterrance since Texas is spending BILLIONS to give prisoners iPads and video games for 'good behavior' (this guy could be eligible pretty soon), they get TV time, a free gym, and Texas is spending BILLIONS to improve our A/C systems and improve the food quality at prisons thanks to RINO-Dems who voted for that (thank Rep. Jeff Leach for that atrocity). Seriously, Texans are going to have to pay $8 million over the next 70 years to imprison him, when factoring the average 3% increase in prison costs per year. $8 million, literally the entire life's work of 4 or 5 workers. Instead of a cheap $500 firing squad which would be FAR MORE DETERRANCE.
