I’ve seen clips of various stops where they do it road side and some that wait until they get to the station. Some I’ve seen do both. I’m fairly certain that even if they do it road side, they’ll also do one at the station, I think the one at the station is the “official” reading.

SimplyCali you’re right about the reflectors, But here’s the thing about the brake lights. If the car isn’t in full accessory (start button pushed twice without foot on brake) the brake lights will not illuminate whether they are being pressed or not. Not to be confused with initial accessory (start button only pushed once), which will allow the radio to still play.

@@bobsmithinson2050 ummmm I'm pretty sure any car that you depress the break pedal the break lights will come on as long as the battery is not dead. We have both key started car and push button car. And you can turn on your headlights(which would turn on the break lights minus the 3rd break light at a dimmer setting than when actually breaking) without turning on your car, but cars now a day have timers that automatically turn off headlights after the car is turned off to prevent battery from dying.

The guy didn’t even have his lights on which means he’s VERY lucky he didn’t get hit by the other cars and ESPECIALLY that truck all going at highway speeds. It would have been VERY difficult to see him until the very last moment. That’s why the cop commented about the car on the verge of hitting him (@ 0:10) but he/she was able to avoid hitting him in the end.

This is right near DOT truck scale, which is why cops are wearing jump suits and why trucks are in right two lanes. Drunk Dummy was (from my perspective/opinion) was in 3rd lane from right. Which could explain why a bigrig truck didn't hit him. But there are knucklehead, bonehead, flipflop wearing bigrig drivers that use that lane still! In my humble opinion? It wasn't this driver's "time to go!" Like others' said: He could have died a nasty death by fire; or he could've caused somebody else's death and be charged both criminally and civilly(civil lawsuit for wrongfull death, etc...).
