I used to listen to Suspense on KNBR 680AM, San Francisco as a kid in the early 80’s. Sunday evenings at 8pm kicked off with the sirens and Tommy guns of Gangbusters. Followed by Dragnet. Then came Suspense. Lastly “Gunsmoke.” The only time they didn’t air was when preempted by Giants baseball. The other thing that drove me crazy was the barking dogs I recorded inadvertently while smashing my Montgomery Ward open mic tape deck up up the carefully tuned clock radio. Wouldn’t you know? 40 years later and having preserved the sound of family dogs dead & gone 35+ years, and after 3 World Series Championships it was Suspense that eventually took a backseat. With the reemergence of interest in these pre-television media hits, available 24/7 online, I can now reminisce about all of it: the tiny rental in Fremont, the dogs, the pre-Barry Giants. Life moves pretty quick. Be sure to catch it. 📻♥️

There was an episode of One Step Beyond which was similar in setting though different in tone, with Jack Lord. This one was very good, too 😊
