I can't say I blame the stepfather from bailing on that bunch of loonies. The mother sounds like a mean, spiteful, straight-razor totin' woman. And the stepson?.... Now that I think o it, he probably strangled the stepfather.

Agreed. She's his best defense - nobody raised by a parent like that could turn out normal. He's insane, she's the reason, and she deserves to be known for the murders she caused.
