What I loved about suspiria were the use of colors and they're arcitype along with the architecture. With all that in play it makes it so dream like. I love the choice of colors even in the road at the academy. Good stuff. The freakin best. I just wish he would of wrote mother of tears alot closer to the other two films

Fun Fact..The vivid colors in the film came from the director liking movies that came from Disney and others using the Technicolor Process of dyes which was going away. He was able to use the last Technicolor Process equipment in Italy to do so for Suspira and its mostly digital a digital process today duplicating the effect. One sweet note about Break Away Glass used in films is its often made with Sugar like how Lollipops are and shatters beautifully as well. Indeed bottles being broken over an actors head are often Sugar Glass and the blue color in a Swimming Pool comes from its coating not the water..🎃

Good stuff guys! One of the few 'films' ever created (based on Thomas de Quincy's opium-induced 'Levana and Our Ladies of Sorrow). Argento was a master at this period (up to mid 80s) and a complete psychopath ;) Always wondered where these scenes were shot. I visited the 'Metropol' and the subway station (from Bava's 'Demons', 1985) in Berlin a while back. He really did like his art deco...

BTW if you ever visit the Czech Republic I recommend visiting the Houska castle which like Yester Castle it has a supernatural history to it as well and of course the filming locations of Jan Svanksmajer's films as well. Of course Italy has a whole bunch of filming locations like Deep Red and other Italian Giallos and as for Inferno though which is the 1980 sequel to Suspiria you unfortunately have to return to New York for that which is where the Rose Elliot's Apartment Building is located. Also whenever you're in Italy check out the Profondo Rosso store which they have museum there and it's owned by Dario Argento himself. And of course Spain has many of it's Spaghetti Western locations as well like the Dollars Trilogy and Once Upon a Time in the West (although one of the shots was in Utah near the Hole in the Rock though where the arch hanging site was at).
