There are many people who choose to be homeless for whatever reason, be it drugs or mental health, but there is equally as many people who are homeless due to costs and lack of housing. Prince William can help those genuine homeless which is his intention, he can't help everyone but he can help many. Give him a chance! Your politicians aren't doing much are they?

I found Eamons attitude towards the homeless folk and Williams project, to be condescending, rude and judgemental. The position is just as bad particularly in the US . Having seen footage of places like San Francisco there is no way I'd return there as a tourist. I saw signs of it around Union Street back in the late 80s and locals were complaining about it then but now it seems to have driven the big stores out of the centre of town . The whole world needs to change for this problem to be tackled but you have to start some where. I think this is what Prince William is doing in his own way- using his influence to kick start change. Good luck to him on the uphill struggle.

Thank you for including all of the adults who have influenced William. Too often, folk tag only Diana as being the "giving, caring parent", when Charles was and still is exceptional in giving to others, in hearing folk, in seeing them. It’s tragic seeing them exposed and totally vulnerable on the street when a feed , bath , bed and controlled meds could return them to human dignity . As much as Diana did some great things, showed compassion with Aids patients etc, she also did do a lot of it "for the sake of the camera" as a way of making sure the press focused on her, rather than on Charles. I believe he learned very well from his mother. She didn't just tell them about people less fortunate. She showed them by action. Lots of it never made it to the papers. We heard about it long after her death. People can say it was for the cameras, but get real. The compassion genuinely flowed from Diana. Nothing fake about it. They got to experience her compassion with her. They didn't read about it or someone's version of it. Both boys have told us that many times. There are things we can cut Diana down for but let's give credit where it's due.

There are so many homeless on drugs, and so many that cannot afford the inflated rents. I spent 5 years hovering above homelessness by changing locations 4 times a week, with a fully packed van. I was working and staying overnight at the store where I worked. People are in this position and worse, but not usually living on the streets or in encampments.

Increasingly, homelessness is due to people not being able to find and afford suitable accommodation to live in. It is not always because of drugs, alcohol and mental health. In my own country, huge immigration numbers has increased demand on housing. House prices and Rents have hiked exponentially. And there is not enough social housing. For the first time in my life, people are living in tents in parks and public spaces. Many of these people have jobs. There are families living in cars. The most vulnerable is the over 50, single female. Our government is not looking after their own people first. It is shameful.

My late brother lived on the streets for the last few months of his life, not because he couldn't afford a home, he definitely could. He was also not on drugs, but mental illness made him feel for whatever reason that he had to go to the streets. He was a US Army veteran. Mental illness took his life. He was loved deeply but he was also unreachable. Homeless issues are very complex and I applaud William and Catherine.

It's so good that this lady has brought to light the real plight of the homeless and that it is far more complex than people think. It isn't just a case of building a home for them, it goes a lot deeper than that. And for anyone who blames these people for their alcohol and drug habits, sometimes it's the only thing the homesless have to take themselves out of the awfulness of it all. I wonder how we would cope if we found ourselves in that situation and what we would end up relying on. Prince William will never truly know what it's like to be homeless but this amazing man has put himself out there and is trying to do something wonderful. I'm not exactly a Royalist as such, I like certain members of the family because of the people they are, not because they're the monarchy but I hope I live to see Prince William and Princess Catherine become King and Queen. I personally think our present King and Queen will be a very tough act to follow but if anyone can do it it's the Prince and Princess of Wales.

I've worked in night shelters and can tell you these people cannot cope with normal life. Addicts have to want to get clean and few of them do. Reality and responsibility scares them back to drugs and drink. Oblivion is a better way of life. The only time they make any effort is in their pursuit of the next hit. I've had knives pulled on me so how could they possibly live with normal preople. Help young families, veterans and the addicts that are making real efforts to get clean. For the rest of them its just a waste of resource. I'm cycnical after working in the homelessness industrial complex, there's so much money sloshing around between government and numerous NGOs/charities creaming off the funding. Where's the incentive to solve the problem when CEOs are paid £500k+ pa. I wish William well with his efforts and hope it make's a difference, but fear his will be just another charity added to the already long list of them. Apparently half the UK council housing stock is in immigrant hands! There's no fairness in the system at all.

Visiting Uk from Australia I am absolutely amazed how many are travelling on the these scooters without Helmets. It's a legal requirement to wear this important safety headgear with ordinary cycles in Australia. People need to understand you can suffer disability or even die from head trauma. I've always heard that it is better to set realistic modest goals, so that if you happen to overachieve, it can lead to incredible outcomes. I admire Prince William's determination in trying to eradicate homelessness in Britain. If he can achieve just a fraction of his goal, the people he can help are well worth the effort. As noted, he is using money raised through his charitable foundation, so British taxpayers are not even being burdened with the costs. If formerly homeless people can become productive members of society, it can only lead to more benefit for the UK. What a prince of a man!
