I really appreciate this. Not a cupboard of uniform jars with bamboo lids, or drawers filled with fancy silicone stasher bags and whatnot (no shade to those moments because we stan any and all low-waste endeavours). It's refreshing to see a real kitchen where you don't have to spend a ton of money or energy on making it aesthetically pleasing. Just reusing what you have already accumulated! 10/10 v nice

Just by the way, it’s better to store olive oil in a darker container! You may have noticed in stores that they normally come in green bottles. This is because exposure to light can cause the oil can go rancid much faster! The more you know :) hehe

Hi Meghan 😊 I loved this video! Also I’m not sure about where you shop, but a lot of stores that offer bulk items will allow you to weigh your jars and containers BEFORE you fill them, mark it down as a tare weight, and subtract it from the final weight after you fill them 😊 but I do know of a few grocery stores where I live that won’t let you do it, but might be worth asking! 😊

hello beautiful woman! i just wanted to share that you can take your empty containers such a jars to the cashiers at the beginning of your shopping trip to get the weight of the container. That way when you check you can give the cashier the weight to take off (called the tare) and only have to pay for the weight of the item! i would recommend doing it with your muslin bags too bc they can actually be heavier than you think. I used to work as a cashier at whole foods and it was never a problem! I do it now at sprouts on my own shopping trips

Put soymilk in a tall measuring jug together with some mustard, lemon juice/vinegar and salt. Then put in a hand blender, turn it on and add in (double the amount of the soymilk) a neutral oil like sunflower seed oil! That's the easiest homemade vegan mayo! 😁 (You'll probably be able to do it in a blender with a hole in the lid for the oil as well, but this is how we do it in Belgium 😊 )

Jaime Brooke30 you can get “goof off” in a tin bottle, or a bottle of “goo gone”....I take labels off jars immediately after they are empty. I rip the label off as much as I can, spray goo gone all over the label area, let it sit for a few minutes in the sink, then scrub off all the adhesive w a little bamboo toothbrush I keep under my sink. Then I take my used coffee grounds and put them in the lid and set the lid on a window sill. Between the grounds & the sun, it takes out all smells in the lid...including pasta sauce!

If anyone hear knows of anything other method let me know cause plastic wrap is disgusting and I’m trying to find something my family will use besides it.

When you store on bags have you had any troubles with insects or rats? And what are those bags made of or how is the product inside(without the original package or with the package)?
