Hirasawa is one of the first musicians who openly embrace the internet in the late 90s and early 00s in Japan, he view it as a way to make and spread music without needing to go thru all the bullshit and corporate stuff of record companies, which he view as “garbage” and kills creativity. Kinda ironic that this made his music, published by himself, rather hard to access compared to “regular” music now in 2022. But given how much creative freedom he’s got I guess it’s worth it.
@Hemuset2 жыл бұрын

For anyone interested in getting started with Susumu Hirasawa, I'll post a list of recommendations. Albums (I'll recommend the ones that are personally my favorite and most "friendly" to start with. They're in chronological order, but you can listen to them in any order you like): 1) Sim City. 2) Siren. 3) Technique of Relief. 4) Philosopher's Propeller. 5) Byakkoya. Individual songs (there are many, so I'll just pick the ones that seem appropriate to start with. There's no specific order): - Parade. - Forces. - Gardener King. - The Westward of Time. - Mother. - White Tiger Field/The Girl in Byakkoya. - Archetype Engine. - Town-0 Phase-5. - Rotation. - Adios. - Sign. - On Line Malaysia. - Beacon. - Code-Costarica. - Cambodian Limbo. - Siren. - The Iron Cutting Song. - The Secret of the Flowers of Phenomenon. - Kingdom. - Venus. - Big Brother. - Sim City. - Philosopher's Propeller-1. - Nurse Cafe. - Sign-2. - Aurora. - Dreaming Machine. - Rubedo. - Switched-On Lotus. - Strange Night of the Omnificence.

Given the vibe of Planet Roll Call, what I understood was that a worldwide projected simulator had kept the populace under control until people started noticing irregularities, such as the "flowers that still bloom in ash". It would be then that the king of the simulated world succumbed to the ensuing chaos, waking up amnesiac. The lyrics I got that from are in Hirapedia.

It perfectry fits with "Utopia", which literary means "no-place".
