I actually buy cars to keep them for 10+ years. That's why I look at those numbers. It's a gamble. Beautiful cars, great capability, but they need to work on the reliability part.

@@tattttu9 certainly Jeep's development in SRT/Trackhawk is not designed to deal with terrain at all but TrailHawk would be definitely in top 3 in this comparison. Hummer does have traction control, 2 settings actually, but the weight is hurting it here in the loose dirt. It's actually the best of this group, best approach/depart/breakover angles. Biggest tires and most ground clearance. As you can see in the second pass he just charges thru it like nothing. The rear locker unfortunately only works in low range and low speed. A front locker would be nice here, you could add one.

I have a later model 2008 h2 that I’ve off-roaded often on some gnarly trails. The traction control is MUCH better on it than the older ones. Also I think the width of the h2 made it have to articulate more as one side sat higher up on the hill. I totally agree that in terms of hardware like the angles and articulation, the h2 is way above and beyond all of them. Though I gotta say, Land Rover always impresses me how they always make up for their lack of hardware with their traction control and fantastic air suspension.

Have fun with that, but my defender does it with no problems. It has all the advantages of being triple locked but drives like an open diff rig. It’s truly amazing. The single biggest problem with these kinds of tests are tires. You cant compare these cars without putting offroad tires on every car. Yes I'm aware they are tested with stock tires, but the stock tires are set up for city use. Anyone actually using these for offroad conditions will swap tires. I know this very well as I'm a SUV driver myself. Here in Norway a lot of people use these cars to get to their far off cabins in all kinds of conditions, and very few keep the original tires. There is either very good nordic winter tires or A/T tires for summer conditions (though often with a low profile). Myself I'm running a Patrol with 285/75-16 tires. This is comparable to 33 inch tires, but not as wide as high flotation tires. This is less than a 5% increase of circumference, and in Norway not considered a modification. Most owner of high class SUVs like demonstrated here would however not go for such a high profile. In conclusion, comparing a H2 with true offroad tires to these city SUVs on onroad tire is a total miss, but even more impressive for the third to first place cars. Props to actually testing the G with all diffs locked! Actually a very good video even with the tire problem!

i like the videos, the effort must be extreme to gather the vehicles, setting time, day and place, good job. i do have a recommendation to add to the videos i.e the cost of the vehicle, the fuel economy and maintenance/resell cost etc, just a pic having the average costs. and literally if you add the value of cost to the equation all american vehicles would have failed terribly.

The H2 was never an off-roader. When it came out it was a huge joke because from the factory it had very low ground clearance. None of the three American SUVs here are really designed to do anything but cruise the streets and navigate the occasional dirt road. It would be nice to see the G Wagon and Defender compared to the Bronco and Wrangler.

Great video. I personally rated the G wagon to be the ultimate number 1 position. When all the lockers are activated, it was clear the G wagon handles the terrain like nothing. But fair enough if this video's rate based on the equal equipment activated (means that it's not fair for G wagon to activate all the lockers for this comparison)
