There also CROSSOVER-SUV Hybrid. Sx4, i20 cross and Stonic are plane crossover based on a sedan or hatchbacks. But Tucson, Santa Fe, CRV, CX5, MG ZS or RX5 are crossover-SUVs. The latter are not just any plain crossovers, if u will by European or Western standards.

Great explanation alot of Filipinos doesn't understand why the Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, Dodge Durango, Mazda CX-9, Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe have lower ground clearance. Because they're all mid size crossovers with unibody construction, independent multilink rear suspension, awd not 4x4 and better driving dynamics. But alot of us filipinos want the most out of a vehicle so suvs it is.

Size kase is not a definition boss. SUV is ladder on frame while Crossover is monocoque design. That is why, technically, a Jimny is still a crossover despite its size.

Hi Caco, I am a bit confused with Suzuki APV. It says minivan but the door is like SUV and sedans. It's rear-wheel drive and it has Built-In Ladder Frame chassis - I don't know what's that mean.

Front drive best suited for "normal cars" with front engine. Being fwd it gains traction better than rwd because most of it's weight is on the front wheels but will suffer understeer. Rwd is best suited for performance cars. Best formula for fun, racing and shenanigans. It will oversteer when you hit the gas hard when cornering. Awd gives you the benefit of traction wether it is dry or wet. It cost more and adds weight that will reduce fuel economy.

Sedan and hatchbacks are only differ in practicality and boot space i think...thats the only difference , practicality nd boot space is more in hatches and stability n ride comfort is more in sedans...

It's a midsize crossover considering it's based (I think) on the Corolla. It's also unibody and the Rav4 is one, if not the, first crossover that was unveiled in the automotive world.

Don't let anyone tell you which is best. That's the cardinal error many buyers commit. - Broaden your research: there are tons of info on the net or ask people you know and trust who owns one with their experience. - Go to dealership of both to physically appreciate the cars and evaluate if they meet your needs. - It would be best if you can arrange a test drive and if it's possible to take it on different roads (gravel, mountain pass, open hi-way, etc) to have an actual feel of its driving dynamics. Bottom line is: it's always you who will decide which is best.

SuV= male and muscular- Body builder.. Torque orentiate.. very steep hill..damn unpaved road, ladder frame required.. Cross Over= ordinary male with lean muscle.. fit the ordinary job..Fun, city and light steep hill.. light unpave surface.. They are cats family..One is tiger one is leopard.. not same strenght..

It's a full size suv it shares platform from a pick up truck the F-150. Just like the Everest based on the Ranger. The Explorer is based on a car the Taurus.
