I am here because I just searched on the web who sings a song saying "My Name is Luka I live on the 2nd floor..." that I can hear from time to time in supermarkets here in the south of France for the last 30 years at least, (last time was yesterday) so it's nice to discover the singer has recorded other songs yet Luka still is my favourite by far because of its folk and popish mid tempo beat very efficient to help you fill your shopping cart at the supermarket. Auchan, Intermarché, Géant Casino, Leclerc, Système U and Carrefour should pay a fee to Suzan with all the money they earned thanks to this song. I just read the lyrics now, (better late than never as we say in french), not too surprised about the sad lyrics, I should have guessed as the voice doesn't sound too happy. I hope Luka was not Suzan. Le bonjour du sud-est ensoleillé de la France !

This song is incredibly well-constructed. The lyrics are almost painfully personal about a memorable experience, written in brief poetical glimpses, with a refrain that features an easily understood sentiment, a fantastic guitar riff and echoes of the Beatles in the fadeaway. Suzanne you are extraordinary

It's like two soul mates finding each other after a long time apart: they have "gone inwards" in order to discover a spiritual awakening that only really occurs when they find one another again and light enters their world both inwardly and outwardly! Suzanne's voice is so melodious and full of longing - the video is like hope made manifest!

@@merseydave1I only have visited your sceptred isle once, March 17-24, 2003. I had married a beautiful Kentucky opera singer who had done duty as a nanny in Paris, and she dragged me as a honeymoon to England. I had always wanted to visit but I was ashamed of George W. Bush, and I begged my young spouse not to make us go, but we did. We spent a week in London. During that time we visited the BFI to see Clifford Hatts, the production designer behind the original 1957 production of "Quatermass and the Pit", introduce a screening of the last three episodes of that iconic and terrifying landmark television work of science fiction and horror. On our way back to our hostel in Edgware Road, our train stopped dead in the tunnel, all lights out, because someone had been run over "person under the train" at the next station. I am from and live in Louisville, Kentucky. I am sorry for the 1776 and 1812 "recent unpleasantness". Louisville includes an awful lot of anglophiles, and I am one of them. The most moving place we visited in England, though it must seem mundane to ordinary British people, was Bletchley Park, near Milton Keynes. I worship Alan Turing not just for his contributions to computing, but because the example of his life, is incomparable in its scope. I asked the docent at Bletchley Park whether I could touch, with my hands, the bricks of Turing's office garrett overlooking the carrier pigeon coops from 1940. The tour guide was suspiciously the right age to have worked there, and he gave me permission. Also, there at Bletchley, at the beginning of the tour, the same man asked for a volunteer to stand, in the parlor room. I did, and was told by the tour guide that one volunteer would be asked to stand with a loaded pistol held to their temple while the Official Secrets Act was read to them. I did that. I can't much vouchsafe a Kentucky stiff upper lip but I can offer love and admiration to your amazing island country. Music, literature, quantum mechanics, wonderfully beautiful people. Kentucky doesn't exactly completely suck, but as a Kentuckian, it's nice to know where the bar is. Much love from Louisville -- Alan

As for our Home Countries of England Scotland Wales and Ireland (independent yet very close) we are small in comparison to you great open North American Continent, yet as you said we have Much To Offer! Although you forgot Sport and Our World Game of FOOTBALL your grid iron game comes from the game of Rugby! @@merseydave1 Well, we in Louisville do have a nascent true "football club" (European true football, the way you know it ,not the American kind.) I have always been a nerd with little time for sport, but I did wind up becoming a caver ("potholer", as is said your side of the pond.) My caving mentor is James R. Wells, American born great grandson of H. G. Wells. James' dad, Oliver Craig Wells, explored Wookey Hole near Wells (no relation) using traditional diving dress and Royal Navy surplus re-breathers in the 1950s. Oliver and his lovely wife Pamela moved to America in the very late 1950s, and founded the American branch of the Wells family (my friend James is the baby of the three, siblings, all raised by Oliver Craig and Pamela. The children speak with New York accents, but with British vocabulary and enunciation). You're quite charitable to say such nice things. Yes, there are those rational of us who hate Trump and all that might accompany him. We must seem the worst country in the world right now, and for good reason (remembering Winston Churchill's wry comment on Clement Atlee), but please know that there are of us here who are truly horrified by Trump and his ilk, and do our damndest to make America a good neighbor again. I do not know if we will succeed. But we are trying, I swear to you we are.
