This has been an interesting 'series' to watch so far: a reactor whose main angle is 'music' evaluating an artist whose main focus was always 'lyrics' or 'poetry'. Every time I share a piece of music I love with someone, I'm very aware that each person hones in on something different. Curious what your final summation will be.

LOVE this song! May I suggest the 99.9f album?

Another 80s song from her that sounds ahead of its time. I'm getting the feeling this has more to do with the guys around her than herself. I can imagine what her demo sounded like. But even her basic song breaks from the folk mode, so she WAS authentically crossing over.

Since it’s Christmas….could you please react to “Thank God it’s Christmas” by Queen ….. it’s the only Christmas song they recorded. Also…”A Winters Tale” is on the flip side and has a Christmas vibe….. this was the last song that Freddie ever wrote and he sings it beautifully. Thank you.

This and Left of Center (made for Pretty in Pink) were my favs. The latter had a Dire Straights vibe. Solitude Stands has a real nice off beat flow and its sound is so spacious and crystal clear that it makes it a great track for audiophiles to showcase their gear.

'Left Of Center' is cool indeed! 🤩👍 I'd meanwhile forgotten it was in 'Pretty In Pink'! 🙂

I've always loved this one, too 😍 Just a bit lengthy and repetetive, despite the added little instrumental bits as the song progresses. Its intro had confused me rhythmically when hearing it the first few times 😅 In the promo clip, the guitarist actually does a count-in before the drums kick in! 😄 I'm looking forward to listening to 'Calypso' together with you! Haven't heard it in yonks! 😀
