McCullers is still underrated to this day, glad to see some people are keeping her message alive

I love Suzanne Vega. I've loved her since I was 10 years old way back in 1986 and this is when I first started playing music. Her music has always been very special to me. Her voice is unique, soft, beautiful and perfect. Her guitar playing is delicate and unique. Her fashion sense is always perfection. I just love her.

Yeah, you are so right, she deserves much more recognition for all the workshe has done, and her amazing contribution to the art of Real Song writing.I listen to her all the time, and just never tire of listening to her smooth vocaldelivery. I have had much diverse taste in music over the years, but keepcoming back to Suzanne's music. Unlike most manufactured music of today,Suzanne puts much thought into what she writes about, and packages it insuch a unique and appealing style that is just timeless.

I'm from the UK and have been a big Fan of Suzanne and her music since she began backin the mid 1980's. I have seen her perform "Live" twice, and she is truly amazing, she isa great songwriter who has this natural ability to connect with her listeners. I look forward to hearing this new album, based around the work of Carson McCullers. Thanks for thispost.

Sounds very good and Suzanne, glad to see that the sigarette your holding is not lit and you were just trying to pose like McCullers (of course, you could whatever you like, but personally, see you smoking would have been disappointing). I'll buy the album soon and let me tell you that even if you are agin (beautifully!) your voice is still the same! Beautiful, soave and velvet-like. I've seen you live in Rome different times from 1987, but I think the best show you gave was a couple of years ago in a small club (CrossRoads) with the great Gerry Leonard! I'll never forget that, thanks for sharing your talent! Jiji (Luigi)

People keep labeling Carson as an alcoholic. I don't think she was. She did drink but not all the time.

What is the basis for thinking Carson was either hostile or apathetic toward Harper Lee? What did she write or say that indicated any opinion Carson held about Lee?

Really enjoyed that interview Suz, it was my first real look into the new album and what it is, you have me completely fired up now! And it was a treat to be able to listen to your voice for a few minutes: not as much as being in the same room would be, but still, lovely indeed. Hope you bring it down under! Well done Gorgeous, I think you have a hit on your hands. :) Cheers Brett xox

You actually know her? I've seen her "Live" twice, once back in 2005and again back in 2010. Unfortunately, she is not coming up to ourneck of the woods this time around. I do, however, have her newalbum on pre-order, which is due out this Friday October 14. So, Iguess at least I have that to look forward to. Have a G'day Mate. orshould I say night over there right now. Cheers.

Yes, I've known her for a few years, she's a dear friend. Unlike the U.K she does not make it to Australia quite as often so we do not see as much of each other as we'd like but we keep in touch online a few times a week. She's a truly lovely person, exceptionally intelligent, with a big heart. To know her is to adore her. :) Luckily for you she tends to get over to the UK at least once if not twice a year so you may be able to catch her sometime in the first half of 2017, hopefully? Cheers, Brett

By saying "You keep in touch online a few times a week" I am assuming you must be talking to her on Twitter or Facebook. I ama little bit out of touch with this kind of contact. Being almost 59years old I feel I am getting a little bit left behind with all this newtechnology. You say that she is "exceptionally intelligent" well thatcomes through in the cleverly written lyrics in her songs. Not everyone gets her music. Her songs are not superficial, like so manyso called "Pop Songs" of today. You have to listen to the narrative, then you get where she is coming from. Sorry to hear she does not get "Down Under" so often. To be honest, she only does select gigshere these days, usually Down South ie - London and the South West.A so called friend of mine got to me her back stage in 2005. I amjust happy I got to see her perform "Live" she is one Awesome Lady.

G'Day Brett, I just got Suzanne's new album on its release and it iscertainly different from all her previous stuff. It has a more bluesy kind of feel to it. Based on writings of Carson McCullers who wasa gothic poet, who lived in the deep south of America. Its well wortha listen, if you have not already got it. I just Love Suzanne's voice, she could sing the phone book, and I would still enjoy listening to her.
