I was 15 when this was first on Top of the Pops. The following day, me and my mates were raving on about this amazing, sexy rocker with the great voice. I had a great poster on my bedroom wall of Suzi in a silver leather jumpsuit. She was a dead ringer for a girl I knew and had a huge crush on. I had about as much chance with her as I would have had with Suzi! Happy Days! (No pun intended! 😁).

They did a lot with just four band members - very talented. Some great arrangements of Elvis Songs and Dave Clark. Suzi has her own style, rhythms, and confidence in the way the music is presented.

Very true, however she influenced so many American rock icons. Most notably, Joan Jett. Joan basically modeled herself on Suzi, almost to the point of plagiarism. Pink is another one who took a lot from Suzi.

Almost three years later it was released in the U.S. and on February 7th, 1976 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #56 and spent 4 weeks in the Top 100... It reached #1 in Australia, Germany, and Switzerland..

Like Jimi Hendrix, Chrissie Hynde , Heart, Blondie, etc, Suzi Quatro achieved fame overseas before she became known here in the states. She says that she had 2 deals to front a male band, one was in NY, & as she put it, she could have been the next Janis Joplin, or hook up with Micky Most, who offered her an all male band to lead & become the 1st Suzi Quatro She chose the latter. She also says that she had sellout concerts here in the states, & her albums did well as well. Of course, she was categorized as "glam rock ", only because she came on the scene in the early '70s,when glam rock was in. Her music was anything but glam, she never wore makeup like KISS or David Bowie, sometimes she wore a shiny silver outfit, but she was(& is), all about the leather.

I bought the single when I was a child in the early 70's.Suzi Q was a great performer ;she seemed very gutsy .I think that she would have made a good street fighter (pound for pound ) !!!

Nel 73 avevo 12 anni, quando sentii per la prima volta Suzi Quatro e decisi che sarei diventata anch'io una "bass player" come lei, la prima frontwoman di una rock band! Quanto ho sognato con quel pesante strumento appeso al collo... ho suonato anche in ben due band. Mi sono divertita un mondo e pace se oggi a causa di un brutto incidente suonare la chitarra é diventato per me faticoso se non doloroso. Yes.. they copied the sound . Rock Hard ! Was in its beginning and was leaving the 60's Rock, to that 70's Rock sound . Well, the kids loved it and wanted more of it . I was one of them . But, it's all Rock just slowly... Breathing ! Sometimes exhaling and sometimes inhaling . 🤠🖖💞 I grew up with older siblings, my sister even had a "pleasure seekers" album ! So I grew up hearing the ROCK and ROLL jammin in the house!
