I remember when Devil Gate Drive was a huge hit for Suzi. When I saw her on top of the pops I thought Who is that ? She was just fantastic. I even went out and bought the single. Years later I went to see her in an open air concert. Alvin Stardust was also on with Suzi. Both were just brilliant. I grew up listening to 70s performers like Suzi Quarto and Alvin Stardust. Both were part of the glam rock Era. The 70s were really special for me. The music was superb. Marc Bolam, David Bowie, Queen, Abba , Mud, Showadiwadi, and Gerry rafferty.

If you feel the need to respond to a comment, then perhaps you should say something that isn’t nonsensical. All you have done is make yourself look childish and unintelligent.

She wasn't the first female bass player. Megan Davies of the applejacks.
@mikefule9 күн бұрын
She wasn't the first female bass player, but the interviewer said "the first female bass player to front a band." Megan Davies played a more traditional bass player's role in the background. There were plenty of women before Suzi who also "paved the way for women in rock". However, Suzi was the first to lead a band under her own name, sing, and play electric bass, whilst wearing a leather catsuit and appearing on Happy Days. Quite a first! I saw her live at Rock City, Nottingham, UK, once, many years ago. A good fun night of sing along rock n roll.
@sharonramsey7158 күн бұрын
Love Suzi, however she wasn’t the first woman to front a band. Remember Janis Joplin, now that lady knew how to front a band. Great to see Suzi looking fantastic and sounding great.

Not sure how old you are but it was a different time and she was different from the run of the mill pop that was around. She had some really good songs and yeah a lot of stuff I wouldn't listen to now - like a lot of bands and artists. I used to buy albums every week and seriously in the 70s and 80s you could listen to the whole album and never think of skipping tracks because the whole thing was of a decent standard. Now, you're hard pushed to find 2 songs on an album that your ears are willing to be subjected to.
