The Warning are three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. Daniela 24 vocalist and guitarist, Paulina 22 drummer backup singer and Alejandra 19 bassist and backup. They have both been fans of one another for years and in 2022 they met at a festival in the U.S. Dany suggested that they do something together, Band Maid agreed. The Warning are considered the top up and coming rock group by alot of their peers in the music scene. They have their own You Tube channel and just released a 23 song concert from the Pepsi Center in Mexico City. Give a look at a song or two.

It isn't a battle of the bands...it is a collaboration and the formation of a supergroup. Two bands, one from Japan, the other from Mexico...singing in English. Song composer Kanami wrote the song to push Saiki and Dany beyond their normal vocal ranges.

The Warning and Band Maid fans overlap by a wide margin and share a large portion of the same base. The Warning and Band Maid met at the After Shock rock festival in the America. During the interview process they found out that both groups were following each other’s music. They spoke at the festival about how much they would like to tour together one day. Upon finding out The Warning was going to do a tour through Japan for their Keep Me Fed album Kanami and Miku wrote a song and The Warning was allowed to tweak it some into what became the final result. Kanami intentionally wrote the song in a key higher than both vocalist normally sing in to push their comfort zone. They performed a live show together and as an encore The Warning joined Band Maid on stage and they performed this song live for the first time. There is talk of them doing this again only in Mexico with The Warning writing the song this time. They only had a week to put the Japan show together, but when The Warning left, Misa the bassist of Band Maid cryed because she said she missed her little sister Ale, the bassist of The Warning. Both bassist are known for being the quietist and more reserved members of their respective groups.

The Maids are absolutely incredible. Very punk, prog rock. The Warning are more straightforward hard Rock. Both bands are amazing and great friends of each other. No battles here, just friends playing great music. Both bands are awesome.

"Show Them" is a Band Maid song that send to The Warning prior to them getting to Japan for their tour (first time in Japan). There is a great video on the The Warnings YT channel of them working and visiting together while creating the collaboration. The performed it at the only joint concert they did in Japan. There is also another video from PRS interviewing Kanami and Dani.

They are singing in American English. Saiki's is a little rougher but this is her best English performance. She credits that to singing with a strong English singer. The Warning are all fluent English speakers. They have songs in both English and Spanish and their 1st songs were all in English. The bands have talked about doing a joint concert in Mexico with another collab song. They are threatening to make Band-Maid sing a song in Spanish. Both Kanami and Daniella (Dany) are PRS guitar users. Band-Maid members are older and more experienced even though the two bands are the same age. Kanami wrote the song with a lot input from The Warning. The Warning -- three Mexican sisters -- and Band-Maid had been following each other online when they bumped into each other at a rock festival in America. After being excited to meet each other, they decided they wanted to collaborate. The Warning planned a Japanese tour, and they spent time with Band-Maid members. Kanami wrote this song and got feedback from The Warning, and then they recorded this video. They performed it live together at a concert the two bands held in Japan. The bands are somewhat different in their styles, and the musicians commented on their different approaches to playing -- especially the two drummers. They all got on well, and Misa in particular was very sad when The Warning left, as she got on very well with their bassist Alejandra.

I would say that they actually sing in American. Meaning the accent and word selection. You know, the America and UK are separated by a "common" language thing. English is not either band's first language. The song is about going forward with what "I" want and not what others think you should be doing. Just like BandMaid, go to The Warning's official yt channel and pick one...you won't go wrong.

Band-Maid wrote the original lyrics and music, but gave The Warning the opportunity to make changes to it as it was a collaboration. From a recent interview with Band-Maid, they stated that The Warning (from Mexico) preferred the song was done in English, because it was difficult for them to have a mix of Japanese and English throughout the song. It makes sense when even English is a second language for The Warning.

Following their U.S. & Canada tour The Warning will be at the Co-Op Live in Manchester, England Nov 10th 2024 which will end their tour season. Then probably back home to Monterrey, Mexico and to prepare for their 2025 tour back to Europe which includes a stop at the O2 Academy Brixton in London on April 17, 2025.

Just a FYI: The Warning have a tendency to sell out every concert. If you want to see them, get your tickets the day they are available. The 10,000 seat concert in Mexico 2025 sold out in only hours. The second one might have a few tickets available.........maybe.

The Warning are a totally different style of rock than Band-Maid. Both bands are fabulously skilled musicians. It really was not a competition but a true collaboration between 2 bands that really respect each other. And The Warning are totally blowing up globally. They are a fabulous live band. If you check their channel out they have a lot of live concert pro-shot footage and they are very friendly to reactors.

I was at the shuw they did together in Tokyo. It was obvious how much affection and resoect they have for each other. Misa said that she and Ale hardly spoke at first, but that Misa cried when they hugged to say goodbye. I think the Warning is the best band out there right now.

TW defo are not as technical in their playing, but TW have strong composition and lyrics to be sure. They are riff masters. BTW, they speak and sing with excellent American diction. Japanese women by a large margin are further along in their evolution of rock/metal/jazz fusion musicianship. TW sisters are the first gen female rockers in a country where rock/metal have no place in the national media. Fun fact. They are the only Latin/Mexican band to sign with a major US record label.

The Warning have a much larger following in the West than Band-Maid, mainly because they're primarily marketed to the Americas and Europe, being based in Mexico. Part of the reason that Band-Maid's instrumentals outshine the Warning's (who are stunning instrumentalists in their own right) is that this song originated as a Band-Maid song, and they came up with the idea to bring in the Warning fairly late in the development process. The core song was already written, but the Warning were given leeway to write their own solo or showcase sections, so the decision to make their parts more simplistic was apparently the Warning's own decision. This all started when the two bands met each other at the Aftershock festival in California in 2022. Both bands were already fans of each other and when they met, they discussed doing some tours and collabs together in the future, which came to fruition with Band-Maid opening for the Warning in Mexico, and the Warning opening for Band-Maid in Japan, which was when this collab came about. I'm a huge fan of both bands, having seen Band-Maid in 2022 and 2023, and the Warning in 2022.

I just discovered the Warning in March. So, i traveked to Tokyo from California to see them perform with Band Maid! Ive niw seen both bands three times, but I have tickets to see the Warning next year in Guadalajara, Cologne, and London. Yes, I'm a big fan. Watch the Warning's vlog abiut theur time with Band Maid. It's very sweet. The two bands are big fans of each other. By the way, they were not competing, they were celebrating each other's talent. When the oerforned this song tigether on stage in Tokyo, it was emotional seeing the affection and respect they have for each other. There's also a short clip of them meeting at a musuc festival here in the States. You are about to be invaded by the Warning Army. I'm also a Maidiac! Lol Welcome to the Army.

Both bands are great and they're all excellent musicians, but The Warning's style is a bit different than Band-Maid's...TW tend to keep things simple by choice (a bit minimalistic). That's why Band-Maid's instrumental offerings are a bit more complex. The musicianship on both sides is amazing...just different styles of presentation and song writing. Check out something by The Warning. "Dust to Dust" and "Dull Knives" together would be a good choice. That will give you an idea of what I'm talking about. That being said there are parallels and similarities between the bands for sure.

As a proud member of both The Warning Army and the Band Maidiacs, welcome to a great collaboration. I really like this song: • The lyrics are a really strong empowering message IMHO • I like that they did not try to do too much, which on one hand makes the music a bit less complex than either band’s other offerings, but it makes it that 8 players can play it and make it clean. It would be really easy to make a big'ol hot mess of this if they all tried to do too much. • The trade-offs really point out to me that each of the instrumentalists are so individually skilled and approach their parts in slightly different ways. No winners or losers. No battle. Just a lovely 4 or 8 beat display of the variety of approaches and talents for a solo section. • It is nice and compact at 3:21. I have seen plenty of collabs over the years which turn into rambling oeuvres that don't go anywhere musically. This one just feels nice and tidy to me. And welcome to The Warning. The Warning have a sound that is both new and familiar. It is certainly hard rock, but clearly influenced by their love of classic rock, metal, punk, K-pop, indie, grunge, funk, and many other genres including classical music. But they have taken those influences and forged a sound that is uniquely their own, and you know that it is them. At the same time simple and complex. What does it sound like to me? Refreshing. A sound that has caught my ear and made me interested in rock again after 25+ years of the same old playlist. While together their combined ages are about the same as many of us fans, their musical maturity is exceptionally high. Need another suggestion? It's strongly suggested you watch The Warning before making a judgment about skills. You've watched Band-Maid but no The Warning, just this collaboration. Each band plays in their signature style; definitely not competing. The final Bass-riff played by Misa was written by Ale, The Warning's Bassist, at 11. The Warning is 3 Mexican sisters, all master musicians/ singers. Pau, 22, named Drummer of The Year 2023, sings lead vocals while drumming. Ale, 19, named the youngest Spector Signature Bassist ever at 15, is a world-class Jazz Bassist and Blues Contralto playing Rock in the style of her hero, Jazz Bassist Jaco Pastorius, considered the greatest Bassist of all time. Dany 24, Alto, 3-octave range, PRS Guitar artist, fills roles of Saiki and Kanami. Further, the Band-Maid musicians were in awe of how tightly locked in The Warning is, much tighter than they are, and the tightest band they've ever seen. Finally, Misa and Ale are both very shy yet became incredibly close as they have so much respect for each others talent and are both so committed to their music. They spent the entire final day together, and when Ale left Japan Misa couldn't stop crying. They speak by phone regularly. This entire collaboration came to be solely because both bands view each other as equals; playing in a different style doesn't mean you're less talented, it's just means you're choosing to play differently. Now bear in mind that Band-Maid are my top favourite band in the world, but a bit unfair on the Warning to say Band-Maid instrumentals were better than the Warnings. Remember this was the Warning visiting Japan and the song was written by Band-Maid with input by the Warning. As for vocals neither vocalist is singing in their comfort zone, Kanami the Band-Maid guitarist and composer wrote it to push and stretch the vocalists. Really like the Warning as well, travlled from north of Scotland to Glasgow last summer to see them. For me Dany is the superstar of the band, Only complaint was the concert was very short

Saiki (Band-Maid) and Dany (Warning) both had to sing in a higher pitch than usual, which certainly didn’t help the enunciation. Both have strong voices, but Dany’s is probably one of the strongest female rock voices at this time. Deep tone, good range, growls and belts at will, lots of stamina. Saiki can do a few effects too, and sings very clean in her enunciation, but her timbre is not as deep, although she’s not a soprano either. The bass figure at the very end played by Misa is a tip of the hat to one of Ale’s earliest bass lines, to show the profound admiration the bands have for each other.

While differing in styles, there is a massive chance that you'll be a fan of both Band Maid and The Warning - and yeah, TW is ripping it up on World Tours. This year a great year for Japanese band collaborations - but I will only mention one - Atarashii Gakko featuring on the Maximum the Hormone song "Shimi".

As others from TWA have already said, TW is a badass trio of sisters from Mexico, Daniela (Dany, 24), guitar and lead vocals, Paulina (Pau, 22), drums and sometime lead vocals, and Alejandra (Ale, 19), bass and backing vocals. As all their fans know, their superpower is performing live and recommend you next check out songs from their Pepsi Center CDMX (Mexico City) concert a year ago from their official YT channel (will not be copyright blocked). Suggest Disciple, Hell You Call A Dream, or the Dust-to-Dust/Dull Knives performances to start. These videos were just released in the last couple of months. You can't go wrong with anything from the Warning's Pepsi Center CDMX concert but "Hell You Call a Dream", "Animosity" or "Dust to Dust/Dull Knives" would be a great start. If you need a familiar frame of reference, their version of "Enter Sandman" from the same show is awesome. Everything is pro-shot and mixed and available on their channel.

I don't think anyone would find what you said controversial. Band-Maid is super technical and impressive musicians while The Warnings is stripped back super powerful straight ahead rock. And yeah this song really doesn't feature either band at its top form. For The Warning try "Hell you call a dream" or "Automatic Sun" or "Evolve" and of course do them live. The Warning are gaining steam in North America and have had tv appearances and have had a push by MTV.

"B-M Outshining the Warning" - Eh, it's a song Kanami wrote and produced, I don't think it was an equal collaboration. Not that it couldn't have been, but collab'ing across the ocean isn't the easiest task, and it says right in the title "BAND-MAID with the Warning." If they ever do something for a Warning album, I'd bet it would be vice versa. The Warning are truly extraordinary for their age, but BAND-MAID are much further along in their musical journey as players-of-their-instruments. The Warning are bigger stars in the Western Hemisphere (but I don't think that was necessarily the case when this collab was first being discussed). I'm sure their fans will correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. :) As a BAND-MAID fan, this song is... fine. Kanami apparently really wanted both lead singers at the top of their ranges, and it sure sounds borderline uncomfortable for Saiki to me. It as played once live when both bands played a show together. I doubt it will be played live much again, if ever.

the warning is a never ending rabbit hole. there's kind of a classic 2 song formula to get into them. first evolve (at the VMAs, that part is important)! then dust to dust at teatro metropolitan (don't be afraid that its live, trust me), to have their drummer explode your whole brain.

The Warning Army will be by.. I wouldnt call us a cult. Love band maid but they are not as popular as the warning. the warning have world toured in last 3 years, have been included in their 3rd MTV ceremony whether nominated or performing this year at MTV global in Nov in Manchester, have played with Foo Fighters, Guns and Roses, Muse, Halestorm, Evanescece, Def Leppard, Ect... The Drummer last year won both Drummeo Rock drummer of the year and Modern drummers up and coming drummer of the year awards. They were invited by Metallica to perform a re-made verson of Enter Sandman for their Blacklist album and led off the album. They are 3 sisters from Mexico who started as a band as kids after being obsessed with the music game Rock band as children. They sing in English, but have 3 songs in Spanish that are great. I feel that Band Maid are technically better musicians instrumentally. The Warning switch it up alot and can have you headbanging one minute, and crying the next as they are all classically trained pianists also. Maybe give them a try... Their whole journey as a band over the last 10 years from playing the game Rock band to rocking out stadiums to 70,000 people are all documented online. They attended Berkley college of music as children. If your looking for non stop shredding and soloing then this is not your band. If you enjoy a band that has tasty leads, great hooks, excellent song writing and proficient with their instruments and giving the same exactly what it needs and pull at your emotions then you may like them. They have a large Catalogue , but if you just want a taste of what they are try Martirio ( sung in spanish ) or Evolve from 2023 MTV music video awards ( sung in English ). If you want to see a more emotional side to them try the song 23 or revenant. They define a genre, but if you have to lcassify them... i guess they are a hard rock band with ballads at times. The Warning are performing at MTV EMAs on 10th November the awards show being televised in 150 countries so you will be on to a winner if you start reacting to them. I fully expect them to become a super group with this exposure. Check out their incredible performance of Evolve at VMAs in 2023 on the support stage to showcase their full talents including as instrumentalist’s. The Warning have probably a wider fan base worldwide then Band Maid particularly big in Latin America and their home country of Mexico. I am fan of both bands so collaboration was great but song was not a favourite of mine.

Spector basses she's a featured and sponsored artist since she was 14 or 15 even Thomas Illgen who was the TWA member who first gave Ale a Spector bass when she was 13 doesn't really say when it happened exactly but she used her custom US model (Buckeye burnt coal finish she designed with Spector) when they recorded there "Error" album and also this past year has a new Spector in a Cobalt Blue finish.

This was on Band Maid's home turf. BM tends towards progressive while The Warning is straight Rock, and tend not to get super flashy in technique so the dichotomy you recognized is fairly representative of them both. Not that The Warning CAN'T dazzle with skill, watch their super recent cover of You Oughta Know by Alanis Morrissette to see them shine in depth.
