I've owned one of these since 2016. Very fuel efficient and reliable, and it's definitely fast accelerating enough to beat most cars off the line. Can't lean into corners as well as you'd like because of very skinny tyres. Storage is great, I can fit a whole weeks worth of shopping under the seat and in the back box. Unfortunately it's very light (about 90kgs), so it's been blown over by the wind a few times. Biggest complaint is its low top speed compared to competitors like the BMW S1000RR and the Kawasaki Ninja H2.

Recently just got a new one of these done 88 miles and so far absolutely loving it!! I have one question regards breaking in the engine, the owners manual says about half throttle for 500 miles then 3 quarter to 1000, I’m a little nervous about, going above 30mph, would you say that’s the sweet spot until I hit 500 or what??
@MechitBetter3 жыл бұрын
Hiya Daryll. Glad you’re enjoying your Address 110. I didn’t actually buy my bike new, so I’m not able to really comment about breaking it in. There are different schools of thought. Some say take it easy. Some say to give it the beans from day one 🤷🏼♂️ There are actually logical arguments for both schools of thought, but in absence of proper experience I’d say stick to what the manual says. The engine is actually pretty relaxed at about 40mph, so maybe that’s your limit for now 👍

Now, it is over 500 KM, I still ride it gently at about 50 KM/Hr which is good enough for me in urban traffic. I do not intend to rev my Address hard because its size of engine got only 110 c.c., never was ment for racing.

Could you make a brakes improvement changing them for more powefull ones? That guess would be a major gain in this bike. And what about the light at night, do you consider it illuminates enough?
@MechitBetter4 жыл бұрын
All things are possible with enough time, skill, and money. I’ve never really found the brakes to be lacking considering the weight of the bike and the available power. If you had overly powerful brakes, the skinny tyres would just give up their grip and you’d be on your arse. Better to drive to the capabilities of the bike, or get a different bike. As for the light, it’s not fabulous. It’s possible to upgrade the bulb for minimal cost, so that might be worth doing 👍

If buying a new scooter, where would you advise storing it in winter. Would it be bad leaving it in a garden etc, even if covered up. Frost etc.
@MechitBetter3 жыл бұрын
Hi Janet. I guess you just have to do the best that you can. Bringing it in to the living room is probably best for the bike, but obviously not ideal haha. So yes a garage would be good if you can find one. I’m in two minds about covers. They keep the rain out but the condensation in, so you don’t really win. My buddy Ciaran built a lean-to type of shelter for his bikes. It keeps the rain off but allows the air to flow around the bike and get rid of condensation. The worst thing you can do is ride in winter and leave the road salt to corrode the bike. If you’ve been riding after they’ve gritted then hose the bike off if you can before you store it away 👍

@MechitBetter5 жыл бұрын
Have you ridden one? The Address has 1hp less than the Liberty. However the Liberty weighs 108kg (dry) and the Address is only 97kg (wet), so even with all the oils and fuel it’s significantly lighter than the Liberty. The Liberty is probably 20kg heavier when it’s fuelled and oiled. So that 1hp difference isn’t noticeable. I’d suggest you ride one. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised 👍

Do you need L plates if you have A on your licence - I’m 59 years old
@MechitBetter Жыл бұрын
Interesting; I don't think it's a simple answer as it depends on a few things like when you passed your test and what training you've completed. What's your situation? I'll give a couple points to consider but to get the specifics I would start with the .Gov website: www.gov.uk/ride-motorcycle-moped/licences-issued-before-19-january-2013 If you haven't done a specific motorbike test, having "A" on the licence is often given a restriction or limitation to trikes. Usually a code on the back of the licence will confirm it. To ride a scooter (up to 125cc) like the Suzuki Address I think you will most likely need to do the compulsory basic training (CBT) course and then display L plates until you pass the full A bike test. Car driving test passed before 1st February 2001 will allow you to ride a moped - typically capped at 50cc - without taking CBT and therefore not require L's either. Hopefully that at least gives you a starting point to find the info you need. Ride safe ✌️
@robcrusoeakarobb556 Жыл бұрын
@@MechitBetter spot on - yes it’s limited to trikes and correct ref 50cc with no CBT or L plates - just a bit crap as you can only get 28mph on a 50cc according to what I’ve read - did a CBT years ago - wanted a small moped to carry on the back of a motorhome so I’ve got something to tour the local areas wherever I’m located - 50cc ok but not great on roads where the limit goes above 30mph

Oh I see. Sorry but I’m not sure. It’s not something I’ve ever tried to do. I don’t mind the way it looks 😁

The seat is poor. 20 miles to arse-ache. In contrast to the Honda Lead 102cc's seat, which never gets uncomforable. Apart from the seat it's a nice scooter.
@MechitBetter6 жыл бұрын
Richard Spencer I guess it depends on the arse riding it 👍 I’ve done a few longer days on mine now. I’d say I can do about an hour comfortably. After that it’s nice to stretch the legs. I’ve got a sheepskin seat cover for my big bike. It might be a laugh to try it on the scooter!

Thanks for the reply. I have a flyscreen on mine which I got from Webike. It looks fine but now the wind noise is horrendous. Next mod is a tall screen. Also, mine had a recall for “incorrect torque on variator” but my dealer messed up and the variator dropped off as I was riding it home. My top speed is an indicated 60 max, 55 is what it likes. Overall a very good scooter for short range work. Wish it had a clock though, I had to Velcro a Casio on, which does the job. NB: Webike does a magnificent SS exhaust but it’s very expensive.

Any complaint?
@MechitBetter6 жыл бұрын
Darcy Chu My only small complaint is that the saddle could be more comfortable. But it’s a scooter and not designed for long touring rides, so it’s my fault for using it outside of it’s design perimeters. I love it though, it’s a brilliant scooter
@darcychu96526 жыл бұрын
Mech it Better Thanks for you information. I am thinking about buying one. So it is not suitable for long tour unless the seat being thickened.
@MechitBetter6 жыл бұрын
Darcy Chu The scooter is perfectly reliable, which is the main thing for touring. The seat comfort is just a question of personal preference and your shape/size. Personally I just find the seat a little uncomfortable over longer distances, but it just means I stop to stretch my legs and take in the scenery more often. I’d say the scooter is fine for touring if you accept that it’s only a scooter and not designed to be a touring bike. Go for it! It’ll be an adventure 👍

Hi this scooter made in Japan?
@MechitBetter5 жыл бұрын
I don’t think so. I think maybe Indonesia? I’ll have to check next time I’m with the bike. It’s built really well though. Mines 4 years old now and runs/rides perfectly. No issues, no rattles etc 👍

What I can say is that if you run out of petrol you can walk to garage and buy can of fuel. If you run out of electric you can't just buy a can of electric and carry on
