Thanks for the video. I would suggest to measure the axial play in the clutch-axis before disassembling. Do that with a measuring clock and a fixture to the block. If that axis has axial play indeed, the clutch, also a brandnew one (!), will come in with a jolt and will very difficlult to shift and drive smoothly. Reason: Jumping of the clutch spring is allowed by that axial play.

Thank you, very useful in order to make the decision for a DIY in the next weeks. Before disassembling is it necessary to put the gearbox in neutral position (or another position?) in order to remove the selector and get it back easily when reassembling ?

Doing the Mrs Suzuki Splash gearbox again at the end of this month. The bearing that fits into the case (a caged type Toyo bearing £15) failed in 2016. Now the big diff bearing is making noise and needs replacing. OS driveshaft would not release during the first attempt a month ago, despite our best efforts, which included trying to free the half shaft from the gearbox while it was off the car but to no avail. Put the gearbox back on the car again and carried on with the rumbling noise. These Aisin boxes are susceptible to bearing wear if the oil is not renewed every 3 years or 30000 miles whichever comes first and it needs a mineral GL4 80w90 (spec from factory for UK models) or a good GL4 75w90 oil for our variable climate.

It seems quite common on these small suzukis that they can have gearbox issues, a lot going through the local auctions with grumbly gearboxes.

Sir, I have a Automatic LHD Suzuki Alto 2009 where its "Gearbox" is faulty. Can a RHD "Gearbox" of the same Car (Automatic Suzuki Alto 2009) be installed on it? Will it fit just fine?

Hi there I don’t believe when car manufacturers make right to left hand drive that the engines or gearboxes change Generally its more confined to how the steering rack, subframe and brake/clutch arrangement is setup. At least it seems that way on PSA cars. I have only ever worked on right hand drives cars so am not 100% sure of the other differences some more research will be necessary

Should fit just fine if it is the right gearbox version / code. As already mentioned, most manufacturers don't change engine and gearbox layouts but would swap brake master cylinders from one side to another but do have LHD and RHD steering rack versions. In the old days when importing European cars to the UK some were converted to use rods to actuate the piston of the existing master cylinder from the opposite side of the car to where the pedal box was located. My imported Golf GX from Belgium had been changed from left to right hand drive that way.
