I think they all need to be up to a certain standard to be a compliant 10w40 full synthetic that meets all the criteria for the bike (see link in the description of this video for more info), so I'm not married to any one brand over another. In Canada, full synthetics are pretty pricey, so I wait to see if there's going to be a sale on Motul or any of the other brands and then I stock up. Recently a local shop went out of business so I bought 24 litres of oil. Figured it would last me for the season with all the bikes coming and going around here.

Rule of thumb from the car world, green and blue are safe to mix together, they are essentially the same stuff. But red/orange is NOT safe to mix with green/blue, it will cause issues. Simple rule of thumb is oil filters on all engines be them vehicles or motorcycles should only be hand tight
@YouMotorcycle
@YouMotorcycle 3 жыл бұрын
Correct, but hand tight for my 6'2, 240 lb buddy, and hand tight for my 4'10" 95 lb ex are going to be very different, that's why I recommend using a torque wrench for first timers. So that can understand what it's supposed to feel like for them.
