I really can’t understand why people get so hung up on the way they look on a bike or in clothes - as long as the owner or wearer enjoys and likes the bike or clothes, what does it matter what anyone else thinks - I think that’s so shallow of others and life is far too short. I am not criticising the reviewer here at all or anyone else specifically, it’s just a general observation. If I like something, I own it or ride it and couldn’t give a flying doodah what anybody else thinks! 😀😀

@@GillyBikes I have had Burgman 650s for many years and I also had a 400 sometime ago and I didn’t like the look of that so I do understand where you’re coming from. The current 400 isn’t the prettiest of bikes for the rider (from the cockpit perspective) but I think for other oncoming viewers, it is quite pretty! Sports bikes and Harleys are cool? Who knew? More like a triumph of vanity - belief in their own self-image and sod the eardrums - over practicality! I've got club mates have told me they can't ride their sportsbike for more than 20 minutes at a stretch before every limb and body part locks up. Which is not much good if you have a trip up to Scotland ahead of you! But each to their own and less sound/more ground! 🙂

Cool factor? I've had cruisers, Wings, sport, and scooters. Riding with guys, you get the camaraderie making you feel cool. But I've been approached many more times by young and old, male & female, as well as riders and non-riders about my scooters. My Burger 650 didn't get as much attention as my Kymco's. Love my current Kymco AK 550, but the Kymco 400i and Silverwing were the most fun. Currently trying to decide on bike #32 and I keep coming back to this B400. I just put 1600 km on my Burgman 400 in three days of wicked fun in the hinterlands of British Columbia. Gusty windstorms on the open road at 110 kph, and real fun on Hwy 20 out of Williams Lake. It wasn't until I stopped in a rest area I discovered riding the speed limit on that road was using ALL of the tires. No chicken strips here. What was really shocking is that I wasn't trying. It felt to me like I was just cruising. The next day on the Duffey Lake road; 100km of paved logging road, in 40 years I had never seen it in such a state: endless heaves, broken pavement along with the usual hills, twists, hairpins and dips. Successful navigation meant constantly search for the least damaged line while proceeding along at a decent clip, to avoid possible rim damage. The Burgman is a willing partner in all this. Decent compression braking and hand brakes allow a greater focus on the road. This was serious fun. I love my Honda CB500F but for longer rides in relative comfort, the Burgman rules.

Honda, kymco, yamaha, sym, piaggio, etc. have it too of course.... all very reputable brands with a good dealer network!! Pick the best scooter that suits you best and get happy! I understand what you mean about not having the street cred of a Harley for example,, but I got used to riding scooters when I lived in the Far East for 10 years, I rode the Burgman 650 and it did everything,,, enough for touring but also good around town. Now I am back in the UK I dont want to go back to a manual bike.. Auto shifting , storage, comfort and convenience are unbeatable. Of course if you are a sports bike fan (which i have never been) you wont get your kicks from a scooter but for anyone else why not? If you want more power then the Honda Forza 750 or the Burgman 650 will keep up with anything (of course a sports bike will outperform it but within reason). Anyway, like your video fella, honest and a bit humorous...

I would feel a lot cooler on a maxi scooter around town than on a sport bike, What is cool about driving a sport bike around town, think you are on a race track or what. I think you have some sort of ego complex. I had just about every type of bike there is form 50 cc to well over 1000 cc, never felt not cool on any of them, but you can keep your sport bikes, for road riding, for track a different story. I had the Yamaha 400 and loved it put over 60,000 Km on it the first year I had it. Would put 200 km just going to and from work, and sometimes take the long way home and get over 300 Km on it and all over on the week ends form Barrie Ontario to Kingston the norther rout. It was great on the 400 going to work and even more fun on the back roads. One ride I could ride rain or shine and always come home with a smile on my face. Only draw back was you had to change the drive belt every 20,000 according to the book but I would go quite a bit farther, after seeing the little ware it had on after the first change. You should be proud to be seen on one, shows you have common sense, and not I have to impress others thinking that riding a sport bike will impress many people.

I just want warn you..folks who say , oh I just want a scooter around, in my "stable" just for occasional use, well I have to warn you, because people who do thar usually end up disregarding the other bikes in the stable, in favor of the scooter lol!!! Because life is complicated enough, atleast let the ride around the city be casual and relaxed, without the clutching and shifting, and being seated like your on a horse working, rather than with a scooter, like being at home on the sofa!!!

7:30 People embarrassed to be seen on a tiny scooter are probably worried about how small other things are. when you've got a large sense of self worth, you don't really care what others think, eh mate? I'm just being brutally honest

I agree. If you have seen previous comments I’m a big scoot fan now and it all started here. 😁

If you don't understand what a scooter is about don't review them. I ride a MT07 and a R1150RT. I have had scooters and would quiet happily have another.

And since this review I’m a convert. I love them. I can’t get enough. I have a few bikes myself and definitely will be adding a scooter at some point.
@stevebonner9108 Жыл бұрын
@GillyBikes That is something I would like to do as well. The Burgman you tested is different to the older one, the older one had more storage but I would love a Honda Forza 350.

I like the modern looking scooters but I really like the looks and how the Vespa 300 GTS rides.
@stevebonner9108 Жыл бұрын
@GillyBikes Yeah I like the Vespa 300, but not sure how it would last in the UK. With them being all metal and riding all year round. I can imagine them rusting quite quickly.

1. Its b'u'rgman with a 'U'. Not an 'E'. Correct that. 2. Stop with the unnecessary phrases - 'Harley Davidsons of the world' -- you don't need the 'of the world' bit. Stop with this habit. 3. Do not imply that scooter owners are primarily senior citizens. Stop the ageism. 4. Ride to the speed limit. Stop hiding your speedo. Respect UK laws. 5. At the lights, keep clear of the white stop line that separates the cyclist zone. Do not cross into. 6. Nobody cares what cool is for you. You chose to review a scoot. Review the scoot. Period. We don't care what you personally wish to ride in your free time.

Thanks for letting me know. I did this review when I first started. I would like to think I’ve improved. I do appreciate the feedback although quite harsh I still appreciate it and will use it to improve.
