Aprilia has downsized its SXR maxi-style scooter formula to create the smaller SXR 125. But if it wants to rule the roost in this segment, it will have to take on the popular Suzuki Burgman Street. So which of these two maxi-style scooters is the one to go for? Zaran Mody has the answer.

Well I have been using Burgman since 2.5 years and I feel it's a great buddy to have on your side but I do agree that Burgman will give you thuds when you face poth holes. Mileage is great, acceleration is excellent, Seat is large, boots space is unmatched. Overall if you are opting for a All-rounder buddy, then Burgman is the right choice. Burgman must be equipped with larger tyres to tackle the Indian roads.

Burgman is an Amazing machine. Finesse , price & reliability. Comfort is top notch specially in city traffic. Dual riders do not touch each other due to generous seat. Suzuki service is equally commendable. A perfect maxi sco for whole family members and Indian road conditions. Ps- Handling is the best in its class even better then Access.

suzuki have perfectly engineered the burgman....in every aspects burgman is clear winner in 125cc. but i will complain only the suspension as it is bit comfortable side, so if u want fun to ride kinda then it gonna not do that all. but still i m happy with it as because its a comfortable cruiser kind of scooty

These maxi scooter ripoffs don't look proportionate due to large body and small tyres. Could have given bigger 14 inches fat tyres and atleast 150cc engine. Best maxi scooter India has got till date happened to be kinetic blaze.

These are the both options that I have in my mind for my two wheeler purchase but really confused which one to go for... I test driven both and felt Aprilia riding quality is something new as I felt it like riding a bike and engine is really smooth and also it looks damn stylish, only bit of issue I faced is heaviness but I guess it'll be alright after few rides... While trying burgman I felt it light weight and also most comfortable to ride but I'm worried about rear small tyre and I felt looks wise burgman is not appealing... Not sure which one to go for...

Haven't ridden the Aprillia but it does not feel suitable for taller riders. I am almost 6 feet and Burgman is more than adequate for me. If you are on the taller side then go for the Burgman with your eyes closed. Avoid the BT version though as the navigation isn't great because it doesn't use Google maps. But the matte blue Burgman shown in this video comes only in the BT version.

Excellent review. I felt the same as well - Aprilia marginally better than Burgman, but does not justify the price difference. Here thouh Aprilia was praised for so many things - eg: the finish / look. I felt that the finish was bad.

3:50 I am amazed by the numbers... but the point is I have a Burgman for around 2+ yrs now and I ride the scotter in my local area and in this whole time I never got a mileage of more than 34kmpl(full to full tank tested). I mostly drive at around 30-45kmph but 34kmpl on a scooter is much less. I keep my scotter always serviced and from Suzuki showrooms only not the local mechanics but still I am unable to get above 40kmpl. Any idea @autocar why this is happening?

stitching in the seat... That is such a junk feature... what anybody would get from seat stitching 🤔🤔🤔 It is barely noticeable to onlookers and I have never met a person who said.. WoW what a stitching !!! Neither in CAR nor for two wheeler. It's an automobile salesman's word.... good "stitching". It offers zero value add either to new buyer or to resale buyer !! Total BS...!!!
