Apart from oil changes and fluid top ups ( it hasn't needed the coolant topping up in FOUR YEARS since new ) it hasn't cost me a penny , it's still on the original tyres and brake discs and pads :)

It's an absolutely brilliant car, I am blown away by it. I have been in the motor industry and drove all its competitors. As far as I am concerned, it is the biggest in its class. Because it is so light, the performance is ample. You simply rev it, in fact there is a noticeable kick in power just before the redline. The fuel consumption is shockingly good. The recommended tyre pressures are very high, dropping them by as little as 5% makes a noticeable difference to the ride quality. The handling is good. Yes, the steering doesn't have a strong self-return action, but have you driven the last three generations of Honda Jazz? It's the same, but those cars are much more expensive. This car has to be reviewd in the context of what it is and if you do that, this is a winner.

The Suzuki celerio is a very underrated car. I have owned mine since 2017 and it gives the best mpg of any car that I have ever owned (mostly diesels) and this little car keeps up with all traffic including on motorways, I’m 6ft3 and find the car very comfortable even on long journeys, the longest journey being from Southampton to Newcastle to Blackpool and back to Southampton which worked out to be 745 + miles and the car did not miss a beat and the passengers with me said that they felt comfortable, another bonus is that The car is exempt from road tax. All this for less money than you would spend on a set of new wheels and tyres for a BMW or Audi.

@@saifanwar898 Hi mate, I have got the basic spec car, when I bought it in 2017 it was only a year old, and in that time 7 years, I have only paid to get it serviced every other year, oil and filter changes, but touch wood nothing major. This little car is built like a tank and is extremely economical and is very capable of long motorway journeys in relative comfort, it is a very popular car in India under a different name, and I can see why as it is fuss free motoring, my only little bit of advice would be to upgrade better more performance spark plugs from the standard ones, as it makes a lot of difference to the overall performance of this car, better acceleration and makes the car much smoother to drive. I would honestly say that this is the best value small car that you can buy for the money.

It simplicity itself to drive, and although it isn’t exciting, it gets me from A to B cheaply, reliably and in perfectly enough comfort for me 👍
@mdluk1997 жыл бұрын

mark199 Very true, and there are a lot of car snobs who watch these videos on KZbin. I see people every day in the premium cars. Nobody owns them, which is what makes me laugh. They are all paying hundreds a month just to show off. Its all about image these days for so many in society. If you questioned them about it, denial would be the answer with the "youre only jealous etc". LOL, jealous of what exactly? Oh yea, wish I was driving a big BMW or Audi etc. I see £50k cars outside £50k houses, what a joke. Id sooner have a cheap car outside a £500k house. At least my money would have gone on something useful! People are so full of themselves, and they actually think other people are impressed.
@paulsykes13396 жыл бұрын
Spot on Ernie, so many people desperate to impress others they are successful by leasing cars on PCP. 50k cars outside 50k houses? lol If i had a pound for every white Merc A class with black alloys parked in a council estate, i'd be a rich man. I quite like these stripped to the bone cars, and would have one of these no problem. A bit like the first C1, nothing on it that wasn't absolutely necessary, even had only one door light switch. Shame they're ~10k now and laden with nonsense to keep the yoofs entertained. ;)

Paul Sykes I always think the Celerio and the original Aygo would have been a direct replacement for the original Mini, and ive owned all three in my time. All cheap and all great fun in a rollerskate kind of way. A man on Auto Trader in the customer reviews got a Celerio for his wife I think, he loves it and says his 5 series BMW is dull by comparison, and I know exactly what he means. I earn decent money but ive never been interested in big cars. My theory is if you cant wash the entire car with one bucket of water and a sponge, its too big :D Ive mainly had small hatchbacks since I passed my test in 1986, and the Celerio was so much fun and very nippy. I only got rid because I saw a bargain Yaris new, and id wanted one of those for a couple of years. It turned out to be the dullest car ever and regret parting with the Celerio.
@paulsykes13396 жыл бұрын
Yep, i get that. I've driven some pretty cars that have been really dull to drive, many still think a quicker car will always be more fun than a slower car and that isn't always the case. For me, i still like the minimalist cars, there's a sense of purity somehow. The fact that i sold an Ibiza FR for the C1 and still had a grin on my face says it all. There again you can have the best of both worlds and have a small, taught basic but quick car and end up with a Twingo cup but we'll never see those cars again and the PCP financed punters want soggy gin palaces and the manufactures, being no fools, will make them...

over in the Philippines, this car gets a touch screen sound system and navigation, fog lamps, electric mirror adjustment, and electric rear windows as standard since there's only one trim that costs about £9050 or £9750 depending on transmission choice. the CVT is pretty quiet and gets up to speed well enough. oddly enough though, this version doesn't get any adjustments for either the headrests nor seat height in the front as a tradeoff

The steering not self straightening mentioned in this video is because the Toe angle is set to a more neutral position (Meaning the tyres don't toe outwards which would cause the wheels to pull them selves back straight). This is mostly done to reduce rolling resistance and maximize fuel economy. My Aygo is the same and you can quite literally steer to the correct angle for a corner and take your hands off the wheel and it will continue through the corner in what ever position you set the steering in. I've actually grown to quite like this kind of steering characteristic, any car that I've driven since that has strong self righting I just feel like I'm constantly having a wrestling match with the steering wheel. Personally I don't have any issues as I feel letting go of the steering wheel to straighten up is just a bad driving habit and potentially dangerous if you hit a bump or pothole while doing so.

And I soon got very used to paying no tax as my model was one of the last before the law change. Love this car for the school run, but would never want to cruise on the motorway, that's not what it's for. I love the turning circle, the handling is great, and I can sleep on the back seat at a pinch. I would say that the only downside is that is doesn't handle speed bumps too well, there are annoying noises as the suspension complains, but I suppose it hasn't failed yet and is 8 years old. One thing I would say is that some dealer parts are ridiculously expensive - you have to shop around for alternative after-market parts.

Many (most) current Suzukis have weird steering. Just get a front alignment, tell them you want more toe-in so it enters quicker and they'll do it. Slightly more tyre wear and worse gas mileage but steers like a dream.

The ones from Splash 1.2 and new Ignis are of excellent quality and quite sharp . The steering of the new petrol Vitara is just decent .

As someone who has this car. I think the review is quite good, however I would definitely say avoid this car. It’s made to such a price that the base model doesn’t even have remote central locking. Good for town driving but not so great everywhere else

You seem to have forgotten to mention engine and gearbox choices entirely. When you were talking about the 5 good things, that was the first time I heard about the 1.0L engine.
@avikchatterjee0077 жыл бұрын
The car sells pretty well in India as a first car for many owners. Good for learning to drive. You can get this with a 0.8L two pot diesel lol. However its cheap to the core and the structural safety is also questionable.

Comparing the old CBU (Japan) Suzuki Karimun to the new Indian based Karimun Wagon R, I'd still say the old Karimun was much better in terms of build quality, and everything except power. 46hp carbed 4 cylinder life.

The thing I don't like the Celerio Gen 2 which is in the video obviously is the Brake Caliper Pin because it can cause so annoying noise. You thought it is a underchassis problem in the front but it's that damn Caliper pin. I got one actually the top of the line one 2016 model. The one thing I like about it is the Fuel consumption because it's so fuel economical shitbox.

Had it's predecessor, 2011 Suzuki Alto, in white colour by the way, and I think Alto looked nicer than this Celerio. Interior is another story, especially the dashboard which looks nicer in the Celerio. At the time I thought I could get along with such a small car but during the ownership it became clear that the Alto is too small car for me after all, especially the trunk was a joke. Now I drive 2016 Kia Rio, feels much more like a "real" car :D

Here's how it's marketed in it's native SE Asian market: 1, It's got 4 wheels, which is more than 2 and you got steel around you so in the event of the accident you die with dignity because your body is less exposed to the element so the ER can distinguish you from a rotten deer when they arrive 24 hrs later. 2, It's Japanese, it took them 2 month to conquer SE Asia with bicycles so they must build great cars 3, It comfortably carries 10 people 4, The vents blow cold air SOLD

How can you slate the engine for speed change on the motorway for overtaking, its a 1 litre car of course you are going to have bad acceleration when overtaking. The engine is one of the best things of that car, its cheap and cheerful and the price represents that.
