Without any doubt, this is one of the best comprehensive tutorials I have seen on the tube. I'm just about to do the first full service on my suzuki 60 outboard and you have covered every aspect in detail and clarity. Thanks very much from Northern Ireland, and a new sub👍

Great! - quality production with good camera work and crystal clear with clear instructions showing how its done. No wasteful 10 minutes on simple fiddley bits. Nicely stresses need for right tools and avoiding threading problems. Top work thanks from Townsville Q.

Fantastic video so clear and full detail. Please may I ask a question I have the same Motor but a 2007 but same. I just boat the boat and motor. When I engage the gear either forward or reverse it clonks / grinds in but motor operates perfectly. How do I adjust the revs or what do I need to adjust for its to engage in to gear smoothly. Thank you
@C3BFA9 күн бұрын
@@tonyortega9877 Thank you Tony. My mates does the same basically when you put it in forward or reverse don't do it slowly, Put it in positively. I'm not saying slam it forward or backwards but do it like you mean it if that makes sense. They don't have clutches it's direct drive so you will hear the gears meshing. If it still sounds like it once in gear then there's an issue but if it's fine in gear it's normal. If its really bad it could be a stretched cable, as far as I remember it's not adjustable.
@tonyortega98779 күн бұрын
@@C3BFA Very interesting. This is my first 4 Stroke outboard, had plenty of 2 strokes, and is any crunched in to gear then normally it was the idle adjustment or sometimes the cable was stretched. Strange if this is normal for these suzuki 4 strokes
@C3BFA9 күн бұрын
@tonyortega9877 your cables could be stretched im. Sure you can't adjust them it should be fuel injection so no carb to adjust like the old two strokes

Great video and informative. What is the engine oil capacity for this motor? I'm finding it hard to find a definitive answer. Anywhere from 4.2 to 6 quarts.
@C3BFA3 ай бұрын
I can't remember the volume sorry. I had a 5Litre tub plus a 1 litre tub and that was enough with a little spare if I remember right. Just top it up a d keep checking your level do not over full it over filling will cause engine damage
@peterpedant2 жыл бұрын
Why not just fill the oil from the top plug rather than the bottom drain plug? Also some torque settings on bolts & plugs would be useful?
@C3BFA2 жыл бұрын
It's so you don't get trapped air in in it tweet the oil if very thick. I can't find torque specs for it so just tighten it never seen any video give torque specs for this job
@ivanzokic31322 сағат бұрын
Hello, I have the same one, so I'm wondering if it has a volume of 2000 cc and the newer df 90 has 1500 cc?
@FamasFTW983 жыл бұрын
i was told that if you have a vent either side that your muffs need to have a hose pumping water into both sides of the vents or else you will damage the engine as one side of the vent wont be getting enuff water

No it's fine as long as it jetting the water properly like this was your totally fine done it for years

What are the disadvantages of the Suzuki and why does everyone prefer their Yamaha
@C3BFA3 жыл бұрын
In the outboard world Suzuki is probably the most popular now, in the olds days years ago Yamaha was probably more popular but not now. These days outboard engines are all pretty equal and very reliable compared to years ago.
