I got a Ukrainian tail rack a few months ago. It took maybe 2-3 weeks to get it. I ordered it on eBay without looking where it was coming from. They emailed me to let me know there may be shipping delays but it came.

That's a bike that needs to go back into production! Perfect size. There's nothing on the market in that size that I consider a fun duel sport (no, not even the CRF300 or the KLX300). You probably know this but a TINY dab of grease on the back of the brake pad between the pad and plunger will often stop the squeal.

Absolutely agree. I've written Suzuki and told them I'd buy one brand new if they brought it back. The 650 isn't a bad machine either but a touch heavier. So far you can still get them new

Dead ringer for my updated ‘93 DR350 except the decal on the plastics and the paneer rack. Right down to the USB charger. They are great bikes.

I love it. Thinking about doing the fmf exhaust and rejetting the carb on my crf230l. I don’t really want louder exhaust but it would be nice to have a little more power when hitting those hills and head wind. I love that you take such pride in a older bike. Take care Chris

@@PSBEadventures I’ve never done much work on carbs except replace them so I might have to get some help with that. I’m thinking I need to adjust my valves also because I was only getting an average of 55mpg on my trip. I was thinking that little bike would get better than that but maybe not. Maybe opening it up would help with that too. I appreciate you putting out good content! You get them hats for sale I gotta get me one!

I’ve got the same bike, same exhaust, same header. 3x3 airbox mod had already been done when I got the bike. I’m currently jetting the bike after swapping to the pumper carb and curious what jets you’re running? Dj needle? Nice build man, you’ve convinced me to pull the trigger on a Ukrainian rack! Been eyeballing them for years now!

I'm running the BST33 carb on mine and using dynojet needle with dynojet 140 main. It has a tiny surge off idle and is just a touch rich. I ordered a real mikuni 135 and the real adj needle from mikuni at Motolab. Gonna see how that does.

Great review...I had a dr350SE before and thinking about getting another one... What jets are you running in that now? I had trouble with my gear box jumping outta gear and was glad to find your other video explaining that. I like these old Thumpers and might get another DR or Xr400r...not sure yet....Really enjoy your channel....Keep on Keep on.....Cheers...

Thanks!! So after a ton of research on the jetting subject, I found out a few things but absolutely nothing definitive. My bike all stock had a 135 main. It was always pretty lean except wide open and it actually black smoked some at wot. The stock mikuni bst33 has a fixed needle position and I needed a tiny bit more fuel on 25% throttle to 50%. I decided to go with the dynojet kit since you can select the needle position. The thing is, the size on mikuni jets and dynojet jets are not the same. They are 4 to 5 sizes different for some reason. I don't understand why it can't be a simple number for a simple orifice size, but nevertheless, it seems totally different. I think I ended up with a 140 main and middle clip position, stock pilot and about 3 turns out on the air screw. The top of my air box is open and the DG pipe frees it up enough to need that bit of extra fuel. I'm pretty happy with it overall especially the extra power and 62mpg. It has a tiny surge just off idle cruising mostly only when cold, I can live with it though. Here's a link I've been using to help the tuning process for jet size explanation. www.jetsrus.com/FAQs/FAQ_mikuni_vs_dynojet_vs_keihin_sizes.htm

I have the ‘93 DR250SE. Mostly the same bike with a different bore and stroke and different jetting. It’s geared lower than the 350 but I don’t know if that’s in the transmission or just the sprockets. It was stock when I bought it but I replaced the front fender, added a tail rack and I’ll replace the handlebars and add bark busters. I don’t know if I’ll be taking it far enough to change the tank or if I’ll change the exhaust and jetting. I’m pretty happy with it as is.
