I have ridden both the bikes and i can say that gixxer is everyone's machine, one would immediately feel comfortable on it and start cornering, whereas 160 4v will keep you puzzled and it would want you to think and plan your move, and that is what i liked about it, it's very engaging. Gixxer is like Yamaha m1 in motogp and 160 4v is like the honda of Marquez..

Right now I owned APACHE RTR 160 4V,,,, In past I had gixxer ,,, both bikes are very strong nature of its class,,, but apache is the ☝️ one of the best compared than gixxer and fz , hornet etc... because the machine is lively got rough character but it shows quite... its like a beast but humble... Finding it a little unfair to compare Gixxer Fi to a Carburetted RTR 160 4V,especially when the On-road price of both motorcycles Fi versions are exactly the same at 1.22 lakh,Chennai. The Fi Version of the RTR 160 4V also gets a gear position indicator.I also found the seat of the Gixxer to be quite slippery,like you keep falling to the tank all the time,unlike the RTR.Also RTR’s single seat layout is best for pillion comfort too. Saying contradictory things. First said apache more refined then later said more vibey at highway. Said apache not polished on highway does 100 at 8k whereas gixxer does at 7k but then said apache better on highway. Said apache is race tuned clinical in corner then said gixxer better in corner. Current rtr 160 is eauipped with gear possition and led and abs by default. If want to compare compare both the 2019/2020 edition. If the bike is not available come to WB bengal the updated rtr160 is already in roads from ladt 3 months.

Ikr. Firstly ns 160 had a silent launch so many people still don't know that bike exist and secondly they released the bike with smaller front disc, no rear disc and smaller commuter tyres. Because of these reasons it failed to impress the young generation/targeted customers. Talking about power output it is the second best after 160 4v but ig it they relaunch it with full digital instrument cluster, fi engine and same wide tyres as ns 200 then perhaps people might consider it.(Bigger Brakes and abs are available now)

Best bike is bajal pulsar 150 cc. It's service cost is only 1200 per year and oil change after 10,000 kms or 12 month. While as I own, gixxer 150 sf, it's service cost is Rs 3600 per year, oil change after 3000 km or 3 months, that is more than suzuki swift petrol model. Handling wise gixxer has no match and city driving is best in pulsar. All other bikes are between these 2.

If your below 5'10 get the RTR1604v Fi eyes closed.. For everyone else FZV3 n Gixxer it is.. Options like NS160 n XBlade are very good too.. So in Zigwheels comparo of FZV3 n Gixxer155 with RTR, both FZ n Gixxer have done a 0-100 of 20.10 secs exactly!!!!.. FZ's 30-70 in 3rd gear is better than both RTR n Gixxer!!.. Now they say FZ ahh that slow 13.2Ps bike.. it's not fast enough 🤣

pravin murthy FZ is brisk in roll on acceleration.But pure city riding and highway cruising and overtaking,RTR wins hands down.

Apache engine is advanced technology with 4v. Exhaust note is also better in Apache. Gear box is smoother in Apache.

gethteddy Your average Indian is an ignorant idiot.Stuff like LEDs sounds nice in paper and looks cool.That’s enough to sell. Actual performance and practicality are things only a few people look into,before buying a bike. A proper LED setup can be awesome,but such setups cost as much as the full front end of the bikes in this segment.So manufacturers tend to provide a very inferior LED to attract customers

I have the apache 4v and in real-world it sucks. Overheating engine, inferior brakes, clunky gearbox and not so smooth engine as said in the reviews.

Exactly. The engine heating is so intolerable. Also the mileage is never above 40 opposite to what's been claimed.

We must have ridden completely different bikes then. I have been riding around on the 160 4v non abs version for the past year and never had any problems with the engine overheating or any issues with the braking. Also, I simply refuse to believe that the gearbox on the rtr is clunky, it is easily the smoothest gearbox in the segment. So much so I can ride effortlessly with naked feet. Can't say the same for Gixxer whose gearbox is infamously hard and clunky.
