Gixxer 250 is what the FZ25 should have been. Better brakes, good headlight, 6th gear, 4valves, better instrumentation etc.. Everything we complained about FZ25 is fixed in Gixxer 250. Duke250 is the benchmark for naked 250cc single cylinder bikes in India.

Agreed. But despite the flaws of fz25 remains an awesome machine for its price point. Especially the torque delivery on that thing is unreal. Doesn't feel like a 21 bhp bike at all.

I own Fz25 and you gave a misinformation about Fz25, that is it's air cooled whereas in reality it's oil cooled. Cooling technology doesn't matter as long as heat decipation is good. Fz25 has low compression ratio and the engine isn't high revving so there isn't much need for cooling. Oil cooling works perfectly for Fz25, I have the first lot Fz25 and I haven't fealt overheating issues till date. The number of gears also doesn't matter, as Fz25 is premium quality, has ample power and it's well distributed in 5 gears. Infact a bike or a car can squeeze out full power from it's power train in 3 gears with clever engineering (E.g : 3 geared Hemi cuda). Fz25 has a great mid range and almost as fast as the Duke 250. I'd say that Fz25 is the most value for money, but if people are looking for Fun then I think Duke is better in that department, Duke's seating posture is more comfortable compared to other two, so it's better for distance touring. I am not completely satisfied with Fz25's engineering because of it's unflexible chassis, extended swing arm to increase high speed stability and reduce fishtailing doesn't help it's flickability in streets but no bike is perfect.

Suzuki Gixxer 250 is a decent bike and it only lacks slipper clutch. Gixxer 250 is for those who wants a refined reliable engine with decent power for both City and Highway rides, gives good mileage, low maintenance cost and also who don't wanna show off. Gixxer 250 weighs 156kg and Duke 250 weighs 166kg. Duke 250 is ₹38000 expensive than Gixxer 250 now it's upto you. Do you really need USD forks, Slipper clutch and slightly more power?

Spot on.. & imo, not just _duke250,_ but for many people it can even be a substitute for the _390_ as well, coz not everyone wants (or bear) that Raw 44bhp power. After all, they both fall in the _streetfighter_ category. Another thing that goes in _gixxer250's_ favour is, it costs 1 lakh lesser than _cb300r_ which produces just 3.5hp more. Lastly, it fills the gap of what we wanted from _Fz25_ :)

Bhai maine gixxer 250 ka test ride liya kal but vo necked model nahi tha faird model ka kiya...bike ki acchi baat ye muze lagi ki control bhot badhiya aur isa 1/2/3 gear ka pickup bohot hi badhiya laga aur ye bike bade hi asanise 3rd gear me bhi uthh jati hai...maine higway pe 4 km ki ride ki agrrasive tarikese respone bohot accha mila matalab muze aisa feel hua ki ha mai ek powerful machine ride kar raha hu isko ride karna bohot asan hai gear position indicatior display me diya gaya hai display apko din me bhi asanise clearlya dikh jata hai...tyre grip very good suspension thodese stiff hai but gaadho ko asanise seh lete hai bass is bike ki price on road 2laksh 15 thousand hai ye bohot zyada lagata hai ek 250 cc ke bike ke liye thodi price kam hoti 2 lakshs ke anadr hoti to ek no bike...bhai...

If I m buying any bike at 2 lakh cost range then I will put my hard earned money only if the manufacturer gives me 1) Very Comfortable Seat and seating Posture 2) Very comfortable Suspension 3) Decent Power, Torque, Average which is at par with competition of similar segment 4) Safety with Dual Channel ABS 5) Very good tyres with good grip on roads during all seasons. 6) Liquid Cool FI Engine 7) No Vibrations 8) Looks and Features would be only an added advantage

Suzuki 250 may have better torque and power figured but when it comes to long time experience, built quality I believe fz250 is better. I have taken fz250 to extremely steep mountain terrains in Nepal(Manang and Mustang both) and I believe it performed remarkably. Gixxer 250 may also perform well in those terrain but how tough it will be in those terrains is a question to ask because I found no problem in fz25 after doing all these touring.( No wear out or stall at high altitudes)

Suzuki was and is always very ambitious with its prices, it should remeber that india is a price consious market. better to save 30-40k more and get the Bajaj Dominar(Hyperriding baby........)

Dominar is good for touring but in city traffic it feels heavy. Dominar weighs 184kg(Kerb) Gixxer 250 weighs 156kg(Kerb)

@@krishnagahatraj1094 my point exactly, suzuki made that, it's not a new company in india. It should have a better idea about indian audience. And to be honest, suzuki products are not revolutionary in their innovation which should get them such premium prices.
