I am also in Austria, and I bought a 1978 GS750 Suzuki, because I owned one in the early 80's, still working on the carbs, its been standing for 12 years, I have had it running, but only three pots. I am an Englishman in Austria, your bike is tastfully done, I want to keep the originality of the bike I have, anyway welll done, My wife is Austrian if you want to get in touch

Sounds great. I had the same issues and had to clean the carbs a ton of times to get them running. I used the so called ECR or ERC cleaner. Can really recommend it.

Very nice job. Some lovely ideas and touches well executed. I too like the seat conversion best, along with the cleaned up clock area. Just fitting the same bars to my GS750 as I had them on a GS550 back in the day and much prefer them to stock.

very nice bike sir. i have a 78 gs750 restoration project of my own at the moment. just waiting on wiring harness, new speedo, lights etc. bike was in a small fire before i got it so most of the electrical is toast. thanks for the video and i would love to see a pov ride on this bike! cheers! edit: should have checked the channel first lol

@@Kinghariii I test rode an orange GS750 when they were released in Australia in 1978. At the time I had a K3 Honda CB 750. The Suzuki was a noticeable improvement. At the intersection the salesman who was riding my Honda said to pin the throttle. I did and it wheelied right across the crossing! My CB 750 would never do that. It was smoother and I recall it had a single front brake with more feel than my Honda. I did not buy it in 1978 but came back later and bought a GSX1100 wire wheel option Katana in 1982. This was a real head turner but it weighed a ton and handled very badly. I sold it fairly soon after purchase.

Did you have to change the screws and needles in the carburetor when converting the intake filters?

Yes of course. You can't just mount single air filters without changing the original setting. To make it run,i used a 120 main jet and a 27,5 idle jet. For me,it worked with this set up,but it wasn't perfect. So i went to a professional with a test bench and there,they improved my setting (think the changed needle). Since then,the bike runs just great.

Hallo, so ein schönes Bike! Was hast du denn für eine Sitzbank und Heck verwendet? Das sieht ja mega gelungen aus!

Freut mich wenn es gefällt. Die Sitzbank ist eine Eigenanfertigung aus Blech vom Satller bezogen. Heck ist ein Edelstahlschutzblech schwarz gepulvert mit Rücklicht und Blinker aus dem Zubehörbereich. Das Bike wurde im Prinzip komplett überarbeit und der Kabelbaum angepasst.

LOVE your GS! What size jets (main and pilot) did you end up installing with your Pod air filters?

Love the build, at what rpms did you set it to idle ? I am finishing my build, and it seems that my enginge ain't happy about being below 1500 rpms

Maybe it's the tacho? They tend to get inaccurate with the years passing. The GS should be running at approximately 1100 in ideal conditions. Did you already sync the carbs? Checked the ignition?
