Great bike I had 2 of them very dependable practically a bullet proof motor. I drove my second one from Las Vegas N.V. all the way to Bakersfield CA with no issues it's like the energizer bunny keeps going.

I have the same bike in blue, with virtually the same damage it's uncanny. You did a great job making this look good, I haven't messed with mine because I don't want to mess it up worse.

It's fairly low risk to try plastic welding because you do it from the inside. At least that's the way I went about it.

I know this bike is long gone by now. But that choke should be on for a maximum of 30seconds if that carburetor is jetted properly I start my bikes. Let idle 15 to 30seconds and that’s it on choke First of the year (2024) I’m going to get a gs500f and make it a adventure tour bike. Taller windshield. Bar risers. Luggage on the sides and back Those bikes are dead nuts reliable till 60 70,000 miles before they need anything major

Not a criticism or anything but in general it's a bit safer to stay in first and hold the clutch in rather than switch to neutral at a stoplight. Just in case you're going to get rear ended you'll have one less step to taking your escape route and might make the difference. I'm pretty sure everybody but Ducati has an oil submerged clutch so there's virtually no wear on the components like there would be in a manual car if you held the clutch in. That's what MSF courses are teaching nowadays anyways - stay safe out there!

Nice video. Mines exact bike leaks petrol out the overflow valve at bottom of bike. Did yours have any of those issues with fuel leak?

That was a long time ago, and looking back at my purchase history I have a bunch of LED's that I had bought also for cars interior lights. So I'll try and do my best at remembering and using my Amazon purchase history. The original bulbs called for by Suzuki for the Oil dash light and the High Beam indicator dash bulbs are a T6.5 (12V, 1.7W). At that time there was no such LED bulbs being made that matched the T6.5 size. For the speedo light, I can't remember what that size bulb was, maybe it was a T10, and just now So looking at my Amazon purchases I can only see a T10 and a T5. The T5 link below shows no longer avail, so you'll just have to search for another white T5. So back in 2016, at that time, Amazon did not have any LED in the T6.5 spec. I think that is why I used the T5's. And I think the T10's were too big. If they weren't too big, then they were definitely too bright and I downgraded those to T5's. Becuase the LED's are much brighter than the original bulbs. I think I first tried the T10's and driving at night those inidicator lights were just beaming into my eyes too strongly. Again, all this so far is about the oil/beam inidicator lights. For the Speedo, what I remember is the T10 bulbs were the correct size and although slightly too bright, they were just fine, since the original bulbs were just a bit dull. So I'm pretty sure both speedo/tach both had the T10 replacements. I also did the turn signal inidator bulbs. This was the most helpful thing, because that signal indicator was way to dull such that you coudn't even see it during the daytime. Always leaving the turn signal on for miles after a turn because the indicator is too dull. The turn signal indicator is the most complex replacement. Because the socket is for a single bulb yet the bulb has a left/right filaments to it. Yet the socket only has too contact points. The secret is that the electrical system reverses polarity depending on whether you are winking right vs left. OMG! I had to solder two T5's together. and the 2nd T5 wires had to share the same insertion point. And I bent each LED to face in opposite directions for the left/right effect. I think I could only bend them about 45 degrees, which was enough to see the difference in the indicator lens. Soldering those two together was delicate, and inserting the fragile creation into the socket was also delicate. But the results were worth all the effort. I took a picture of the creation, but I absolutely can not find it. Also, might be worth looking up the original bulb type/number and then seeing if anyone makes an LED compatible with it. Got the same bike it has 19,000 miles is that a lot for this bike? Do they usually last a while? My bike kinda ticks a lot when I’m at idle or slow down

I have this bike and wondered if it requires removing the fairing to do an oil and filter change as it looks s bit tight 😀

I bought my oil & filter but have not done it yet. From the looks of it I'd say you do not have to remove the fairings and it doesn't seem to be that tight. In addition I'd say you won't even drop oil onto the inside of the fairings from swapping out the filter.

I never did a mileage check. Since I did the video I purchased two more motorcycles and decided to sell this one, so I've canceled the insurance and let the registration expire. Now I just need to put it on craigslist.

I have a 95, best I can say is I spend around 6 liters for 150ish kms. 100km if doing 120kmh average and pikes at 170/180
