I bought one (new) in October 1980 (in South Africa) and had it for 20 years. Sold it back to the same dealer in late-2001, when we moved from SA to the UK. Beautiful bike... I've missed it terribly - and watch your video with supreme envy! Hope to get another one soon - but not many around in top condition.

Love this!! I just bought an 82 gs850L , carb was out and in pieces but clean. Guess the owner gave up lol I’d be interested if you have any recommendations on manuals/guides for this bike specifically! Or perhaps any forums/ enthusiasts pages

Wow, nice bike! it looks pristine and runs perfect. Kudos for preserving/restoring the originality. not many bikes like these around anymore, most have been hacked up to become cafe- & ratbikes because of their longevity...

in fairness… a lot of GS(s) are now in pretty rough shape and those that are converted to brats and cafes are at least still being ridden and are still on the road.
