Here is my review of the brand-new 2023 GSX-8S! It has some competition, but with the new Suzuki 776cc parallel twin engine on a 270-degree firing order it should be good, let's find out!
Big thanks to Haslemere Motorcycles for the loan, Check them out here.

Thanks for posting this review, spicy110. I've recently tried both the CB750 Hornet and the GSX 8S and both bikes are superb. Although my wallet was pulling me to the Honda, my heart was with the Suzuki. My Pearl Blue GSX 8S will be ready to collect next week.

You hit the nail on the head. People confuse power and torque. You can have fun with less than you think. 200hp is too much IMHO. I have a 2004 triumph 955i st sprint with the uprated 118hp motor. It's more than I could ever use , and when you open the taps all the torque makes it feel like your hanging onto a wild horse. Torque turns wheels, power determines how fast it goes. Torque every time.

These kinds of bikes (parallel twin, middle weight), I'm so happy they exist and I get why they're so popular. Great in the city, great at motorway cruising, and just all round fun to hoon on. As an owner of an inline-4, I very much want to get a bike like this, something that's more usable in urban areas but still fun on these horrible Irish rural roads I live on lol

I much rather have the Honda hornet, cheper, even with the quick shifter, less weight and more HP and IMHO better looking.

I love how you don't feel the need to gesticulate while riding, I can't help but cringe as I watch Lamb Chop Rides happily wave and signal to all other road users as he talks.

Shuriken should be the name of the bike because of its multiple sharp angles and it would fit the theme of Asian weaponry like the Katana. GSX-8s is just too convoluted.

You are so lucky to be able to test ride various motorcycles! Where I live no dealers offer test rides. Unless they happen to have one you are interested in, you can't even sit on it until you buy it and then wait for a few weeks to months to get it. I'm pretty sure that way of doing business prevents them from selling nearly as many compared to if they did offer test rides. Even if it brings down the value of the bike a bit I think they would eventually make a lot more profit from selling more bikes. As it is, I am very interested in this bike but am extremely reluctant to buy it without riding one first. One reviewer said the seat is way too hard and needs more cushion. That bothers me greatly since a comfortable seat is extremely important to me.

Think it's a tempting package, many will consider this or the new Hornet. I'm just not a fan of the Suzuki headlight arrangement. I'm probably considered an older rider and just prefer the front styling of the SV 650 with its more traditional looks.

Wasn't aware of you until today. Mark at Haslemere Motorcycles mentioned you as you pulled away on the new Vstrom 800DE. Great video and I have now subscribed, thank you.

Spicy 110 - People's Champion lol. Nice review. I like this bike a lot & seriously considering it. I also agree on looks alone it trump's the Hornet & MT as well as the Z650 & the Duke 790 for me too. The blue does look nice but the black looks mean & the one I go for personally.

This is possibly the best (IMO) of the current more budget friendly mid-sized bikes available. I don't normally watch review vids of bikes I'm not looking at getting, but when I saw you had gotten this it perked my interest.

Looking to get this as my first motorcycle next year here in the USA. I was happy to hear you are also 6'4'' and it fits comfortably! I'm waiting for dealerships to get them in June so I can sit on one for some extra motivation to save up.

Tried lots of bikes including gsx8, hornet, trident, 850gs and cb650r. They are all great bikes some more powerful than others hornet has bonkers power, but in the finish I bought gsx8 in white as it fits me like a glove and i don’t regret my choice for 1 minute. Test ride one and you’ll see just how good it is.
