Hey Omni Legend! Thanks heaps for the shout out! I’m embarrassed 😂😂😂 Did I actually bang on about this great machine so many times? I’m so grateful you got to test ride the 8S! Yep, the quick shifter doesn’t like low throttle application between 1-2, but after that, it’s fine. Just use the clutch especially in traffic situations. TST Industries makes a couple of integrated tail tidies & a bunch of stuff. Owners have already fitted pipes on them, but I prefer stock. Thanks again & sorry for not messaging you back earlier. For some strange reason I didn’t get a notification that you released a video 3 weeks ago 🤦‍♂️

Hahaha, no sweat on being late to the party. Thanks for stopping in! I'm happy I got to try this new flavor from Suzuki. I think they did an excellent job building a very well-rounded machine at a price that makes sense. Absolutely justified to bang about the bike. 😂 I figured someone out there had a tail tidy available for the bike, it was just odd seeing the tail light in the fender - that's a page out of KTM's book for their Duke 790/890 bikes. As for pipes, I like a bit more rumble and grumble than what the factory offers, but it's definitely not bad out of the box. See you in the next one amigo! Cheers!

This bike looks amazing, I was considering a few different models but I'm pretty much sold on the GSX8S....I might wait to see the 8R before I pull the trigger
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto 7 ай бұрын
The 8R has more forward-biased ergonomics by quite a bit when compared to the 8S, but it's not a full-blown super-sport stance. Additionally, the front and rear suspension is Showa branded on the 8R rather than a no-name in-house suspension like the 8S has. It will probably be sprung a bit stiffer for more aggressive cornering capability. The 8R is for someone who wants to do more spirited riding instead of bebopping around town, so if that's what you're into, I'd say pony up the extra $350 and snag the 8R.

the best motorcycle i have ever owned..i also rode 2000km on the suzuki 800 DE, and it has a horrible gearbox, very clunck sound, and the gsx-8s one of the smoothest gearboxes i have ever ridden, strange, maybe the 800 had a manufacturing problem... in any case the 800gsx-s is a fantastic bike that has very good torque... makes it really enjoyable to ride again after many motorcycles and 25 years of riding

Was choosing between this and an MT-07. Dealership near me has both bikes on sale for the same price, so that definitely pushed me towards the GSX-8S. OTD price for it is $9396. Going there Tuesday to hopefully sign off on it, and have it out the crate and ready to go on Wednesday. :)

Hi! Tuesday has come and gone - I hope you were able to make a decision that felt right. Great video, thanks for sharing. Quick question, how does it feel at 80, 90+ mph compared to similars bikes like the Mt-07?. I know it is a naked bike, but wondering how it compares to similar ones , thanks
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto 7 ай бұрын
The chassis feels great at those higher end speeds. I had no complaints even as I ramped it up over 100+mph. The bike gives tons of rider confidence in nearly every scenario you may encounter while on it. The MT-07 is a bit more lightweight and the suspension isn’t sprung as well, so it can definitely feel like it moves around a bit more at higher speeds compared to the 8S. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching! Ride safe. 😎

Great video Omni just wondering how much decrease in power is it in C mode?
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto 4 ай бұрын
C Mode doesn't necessarily "decrease" your power per se, but instead lessens the responsiveness of the throttle when you twist it open so it isn't too sharp in varying conditions. It can be very useful for getting familiar with a bike that is new to you before you put it in A-mode for 100% responsiveness. Think of it like a ratio sort of. A-Mode: Throttle opens 100%, fueling is 100% B-Mode: Throttle opens 100%, fueling is 85% C-Mode: Throttle opens 100%, fueling is 70% I hope this helps answer your question. Thanks for watching!

Yooooo, he's back! Do you think the GSX-8S will ever come close to the cult status of the old SV 650?
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto 7 ай бұрын
Last long-form video for the year! Hoping to get a couple of KZbin shorts out before EOY. I think the SV650 was so ahead of its time when it was released and it's had such a long production run with favorable enough updates through the years. It will be nearly impossible for the GSX-8S to hold a candle next to the roaring blaze that is the SV650 cult without going through a similar product life cycle. It has the foundation, but the SV650's legacy casts a huge shadow on the world of motorcycling. I would _REALLY_ like to believe Suzuki has turned a page with this next generation of motorcycles and will bring updates and exciting products to the table more frequently than in years past when it really was just new graphics and bodywork.

I think it's safe to speculate the big Japanese/Euro brands won't be able to copy the same formula they've been following, and will have to start bringing more value to the table. Consumers are starting to trust CF more and realize they aren't an "off-brand" as I've heard some people describe them. They still have a long way to go but with all of the new and exciting products they are bringing to the table, they are sure to continue on the trail they've blazed. Much more to come from CF as well - off-road dirt bikes, the middle-weight 450 adventure motorcycle, the 675 3-cylinder, and the 500 4-cylinder.

That's fine as long as your comfortable with the KTM Duke 790/CFMoto NK800 reliability risk. After reading/viewing every review (and their comments sections) I could find for the last couple of years for this class of bikes I would have to give the Duke790/890 platform (the bike the NK800 is based off of) the "Land Rover of motorcycles" award (good performance/high maintenance). Way too many previous owners warning potential new owners of their unfortunately frequent reliability/warranty issues to not at least be a consideration when buying one of these bikes.

@@richardwarsinske7064 I have zero clue as to what the hell you're talking about about. Though I have seen some issues but no more or worse than other brands. You only know about the 1 out of a thousand who are unhappy. Sorry to burst your bubble but guess what? Even Honda has its issues. Stop playing the stupid song of "RELIABILITY!!!!" Had my 650NK for 9 months put 6k miles on it riding the dragon, to Florida, Ohio, Alabama, Indiana and much more. I put more miles on my bike than most people put on new cars. @@tyrant1178 Sorry to have pushed you button but I think you have at least partially misunderstood my post. I have no problem with CFMoto, just the Duke 790/890 engine platform which the NK800 is part of. Doesn't even make a difference whether you look at the comments section of the Dukes or adventure series it's been my experience you'll find far more former and current owner reliability complaints than you would for similar bikes or even other street KTM motorcycles. We may not agree but you haven't changed my opinion that some bike are just more or less reliable than others and I see nothing wrong with tagging the 790's poor reliability reputation as a red flag for potential customers to consider before they buy.

There too dissimilar to make a case between them. The new gen MT-09 is leaps and bounds more impressive than the GSX-8S because of it's lightweight nature, rev happy engine, suite of electronics, and significantly higher power output when compared to the 8S. The MT-09 wins on all levels against the 8S. That said, they are not in the same class of bike, and the MT-09 would be more comparable to a Triumph 765 or KTM Duke 990.
