I'm a Suzuki tech and have literally just come back from Suzuki GB for training on these bikes. We had the motor apart and Suzuki have seriously been clever with the design. Especially cramming two balancers into the motor making it SUPER smooth. Suzuki have chosen to make this motor really toquey and usuable rather than showing off with irrelevant numbers on paper. I'm looking forward to trying the DE800.

Mossy, original Fast Bikes and courier Legend! Great review, it looks like Suzuki have got this right, cheap, fun and involving. There is something to be said for 'less is more'. A lot of us can't afford or even want to spend £15000+ on a bike that you can barley use 50% of it's capability most of the time.

Just found the channel. What a revelation Mossy is in reviewing. Other reviewers are too scared they won't be invited to a shindig down in Spain for a couple zero alcohol beers and a blat on a new toy if they say a bike is shite. I'm sure that shite was compacted somewhat with non adjustable suspension. Keep it up guys and more of the same please!

Entertaining review as ever. I quite fancy one of these. I really like it & I think it has lots of potential to be a right little beast with a few choice aftermarket parts. Stick some decent tires & a full system on & it'd no doubt go & sound great. Maybe in time a new rear shock & some fork cartridges etc too & it could be a really decent fun track bike too.

I as those Dunlops on my Z900, swapped out for some Continental Sport Attack 4’s. What a massive, massive difference in grip. I spun the Dunlops constantly…

I live near there and can confirm the road to Greolieres and up to the route Napoleon is epic. A few wee rocks and beasties but Goldeneye Ronin and Jonny English had some car chases on that section with the rock pinnacles.

Mossy is a loud-mouthed, Northern monkey with a heart of gold. I had a big crash riding with him many years ago, and he was an absolute gentleman, doing his best impersonation of an ugly but remarkably compassionate nurse, until the emergency services arrived and carted me off to hospital. If he says it's a good bike, you can trust it's a good bike.

Great review.. At 3:02 seems like every parallel twin runs out when you rev it hard. That is their Achilles heel. They lose it on the top end

Haven't ridden the hills of Antibes for about 25 years (ThunderAce days) but I'm with you on Dunlop road tyres - never liked em - always feel a bit hard and unforgiving in cold conditions. With Pirelli and Metzeler moving most production to China it's down to Michelin, Bridgestone and Avons for me. The little Suzi looks like a cracker - a slightly fruity pipe (not too loud) to bring out the 270 degree charms would finish the bike off nicely.

@@DJBLESSD Its not about emmissions. They're just much cheaper to make and suit modern chassis designs. The 270 crank mimicks the V-twin with it's strange firing order. But yeah, I love a twin as much as the next man. It's sad to see them phased out.

Those tyres are roadsport 2, I have a set on my sv650 and do not like them. Funny enough I had an even more budget set of tyres , dunlop gpr 300's before them and really liked them.
