Love these bikes. Been riding my 1985 GSXR 750 for the last 36 years. It’s bulletproof. I bought a 1986 Limited that’s pretty mint and OEM 14 years ago. Again, bulletproof.

Looks a really nice classic bike to restore, and not to hard a restoration. Will be great to see it back to its former glory and out on the road being used. Overall the bike looks in great condition and I like the colours esp the black wheels with gold callipers.

I have not seen a early GSXR on the road here in ages, they are durable but nearly all were lost. The tires were narrow and the frames were wonky compared to now but then they were something and a stunning looking machine still.

Glad to see you back! Lovely looking bike as well. Can’t wait to see you crack on! I’ve missed you! I’ve sold the tdm850, missing it. And last week, on Thursday, I went and bought myself my first sportsbike! A 2001 E2 Zx9r. Absolutely love it! I had to clean our tank and carbs as it broke down on me on the first day! Some service parts have come. I’m waiting on my undertray, cause the battery wasn’t clamped down!! For £1,500, o couldn’t grumble too much! Love it.

Cheers Thomas, Shame to hear the TDM is gone but good to hear you have another bike, I like the ZX9r as a sports bike almost got one my self many years ago, gutted some bits have gone wrong but it's half the fun of owning a bike for me

Almost bought an 1100 ‘slabbie’ just recently as I wanted a classic Gixxer in my collection... but it was a bit leggy & tired, and also an import. Shame, but I lucked out buying a ‘98 white/blue 750W SRAD with low miles and all original, including exhaust. 32 years of owning bikes and I had never owned a GSXR..until now 🙂 I am also doing very similar to you but on a ‘99 SC33 Fireblade. Hasn’t run in 2 years, fuel is stale.. and only fired on 2 cylinders. So my job to do list is growing lol

This exact bike (only a US '86 model) was my very first Superbike. I bought it slightly used in 1990. No other sportbike (out of the 35 or so that I've owned) felt more like a raw, Mad Max race bike. Hang on to this one mate. Gonna be worth $20k + in less than 10 years for sure!

Hi Franklin, thanks for the comment and your experiences, I hate to say I no longer own the GSX-R, I had my fun with it and the person I sold it to will enjoy it so I know it’s gone to a good home.

Hi, I put since 2 weeks new Mikuni RS 34 carbs on my '85 bike , I was fed up with the original carbs , always leaking , bad starting but now easy starting and more and better reaction on the right wrist. Only one thing which I don't like with RS carbs is the hammering (ratle slides is the nickname) with the K&N filters as if the motor has a mecanique failure on low rpm maybe use the tmr serie.
