Very nice road and sounds great! Thanks for uploading! I could feel that you were interacting with the bike as you rode. I think the break-in period is an important time to get used to the bike. I am sure that you will have a wonderful touring experience ahead as a reward for your careful breaking-in. In Japan, the speed limit is 60km/h except for highways, so I am very envious of a country where I can comfortably ride on such nice roads. I look forward to more uploads from you. Good to hear about the wind. I believe people was expecting some sort of FJR1300 massive windscreen to conplety push the wind ubove your helmet, but this is not that kind of bike. As far as it is smooth and off your chest, is all you need. Awrsome video mate

I had and have other motorcycles. I always preferred big screens to block all wind away from me. The thing is, they are most of the time very noisy, they cause heavy wind buffering. This wind screen is perfect for my body size (182cm). Yes you get some wind to your helmet but it causes very low noise. Also if you are riding on warm(er) days only it feels great to get some fresh air into your helmet

Hi there. This is on the border between Austria and Germany in Europe. Search for Kufstein town on the map or check it here: www.helmtube.com/watch/suzuki-gsx-s-1000-gt-pure-engine-sound-austria-to-germany-from-kufstein-to-bayrischzell-6301038a4160364bdf75e527 I'm using GoPro 7 Black Hero for video and Zoom H1 external recorder for my audio recording which I put under the pillions seat. The sound is not processed so it should be very close to original Suzuki engine sound. Let the GSXS force guide you :)

Can't understand noise, it's from stock exhaust? Position is comfortable, brakes?
@helmtube
@helmtube 2 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that it's hard to record the exact sound of the engine or exhaust. But yes, this is original sound. I use an external zoom recorder which I put unter the seat, it catches some wind noise and some "metal" noises that gear box, suspension, etc. produce. I find position comfortable but this is very subjective. If you come from super-sport motorcycle you will find it super comfortable, if you come from GS it will be very sporty. Seat was on the "hard side" for the first 2t km, now it's great, maybe my but adopted it :) Breaks are good, they have enough stopping power but they are rather progressive than aggressive which I think is they way that on a touring bike should be. If you have a chance I would suggest you to get one for a test drive.

But What Bandit had and I would love to have again on a four cylinder bike was that low down torque. GSX-S has good torque, but Bandit was for my taste much better ;)

Question - How's the wind protection? Does it make you put in effort to hold the bike or is there enough protection? i currently ride a naked and have to hold on to the handlebars on the highway.
@helmtube
@helmtube Жыл бұрын
hi @anuragvdo for normal European road speed limits it's great. I pushed the bike few times over 200km/h on a highway for a while and I naturally squeezed myself down to the bike, but I still found the wind protection sufficient. Now it's winter here and I did notice that my upper part of legs are getting colder than I was used to on my other bike (BMW R1200RS). But what I find awesome about the windscreen is the wind noise - you get some wind to your helmet, which is welcome on a hot summer day, but the wind is quiet, so no wind buffering. I'm 1.82cm tall ... There are other windscreen option on the market so you will definitely find one that fits you. But try stock first. When I first time test rode the bike one of the first things that I've noticed was how quiet the wind noise inside my helmet was ... May I ask which bike do you ride at the moment? ✌

@@helmtube Thanks for the reply. I ride a FZ-07/MT-07. I am looking to get the GSX-S1000GTA, which actually has a taller windscreen (adjustable too). I really hate the feeling of being pushed back by the wind of the highways. I am in Canada, so I will be riding only in the summer season. I am 1.78m tall. I am now wondering if the S1000GT will be enough. GT & GTA has a price difference of about $1000.
@helmtube

@@anuragvdo I would definitely recommend you to go test drive one. I would also like to point out that the windscreen on Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GT is not adjustable! But you do have already few after market windscreens of different shapes and sizes to play with if stock one won't fit you. Is the GTA you are referring to a GT version with panniers? I noticed that different countries have different labels for "travel edition" which comes with different equipment. Mine is "travel edition" but came with no heated grips or taller windscreen (Germany) in Austria (neighbour country) GSXS GT+ which is "travel edition" comes at least with taller touring windscreen ....

My friend, I have the Bandit1250S and i am interested in this GT or the new GX bike. The Bandit had fantastic torgue in low revs, how does the GT feel in low revs? Do you have the need to ride it in high rpms to get the feeling of the Bandit? In general do you miss something from the bandit and what do you like from GT that you didn't like in the Bandit. What is your average consumption? With the bandit i was getting about 265Km in every tank. Thank you in advance for your reply :) Wonderful video! so rellaxing
@helmtube
@helmtube Жыл бұрын
@gerokatseros If you like the torque of the bandit you may miss that on GT. Even thou both bikes have almost same amount of torque there is a huge difference how these two engines perform. GT feels on low revs just fine, but is far away from how bandit performs on low revs. On GT fun starts from 6k rpm and on. If you enjoy cruising with your bandit in 6th at 100km/h and enjoy low rpms bandit can do that, you will miss 7th or 8th gear on GT. :) 6th gear, 100km/h on GT would rev around 4500 rpm where motorbike starts to become louder. Overtaking on shorter straights with GT means downshifting to second or first gear. My average fuel consumption on GT, according to bikes computer is after 10k km 5.2l/100km. Max I was able to squeeze out of one full tank was 340km thou. The only thing I miss from my Bandit is the torque on low revs. GT is a great sport touring bike and it is very agile, while riding it it feels it weights nothing :) If you want to make it more comfortable there are already quite few after market items available. In my case I installed handlebar risers, seat gel pads, Yoshimura R77S slip on (a bit quieter sound) and changed tires. I assume GX will be a more comfortable version of GT.

If it was not for the short range I would get one. Son your shifting it to much it is not needed using the torque especially when it is in break in will help seat the rings better because most of the break in is getting the piston rings to seat no matter what they tell you as well as the piston skirt to cylinder clearance. Than getting the trans broke in so all the gears get their permanent wear pattern a few hundred miles is really all you need than let her rip. The bearings in the bottom end will be fine by then.

I have passed my first service and I noticed that engine oil used by Suzuki dealership was half-synthetic Suzuki engine oil. I find the motorbike now smooth as .... @@helmtube My S1000RR came limited to 9000 rpm during the first 1000km. Part of the 1st service was to remove the restriction. That said, it did feel like you're shifting too soon and keeping your revs too low. It's a bike engine... it needs to rev. Suzuki has no interest in giving you the best oil. They gave you a good enough oil and all they care about is that you don't claim any warranty. Good synthetic oil will last longer and protect better. It's also more resistant to shearing. It really depends how long you want to keep the bike...

@@johnnyblue4799 Suzuki has no rpm limit during the break in period, thou that would be easily implementable. I love on my bmw r1200rs how the rpm 'red area' moves up as the bike is warming up. Suzuki is way more conservative :) I asked about rpm limitation when I picked up my bike and the service boss told me to 'follow my own feeling' and drive it as I would like to keep it forever ;)

@@helmtube I know Suzuki has no set limit. What I meant is that BMW set a much higher limit than what I saw you using. The break-in methods... this is a long debate with no end. It's enough to do a search for "motoman break in". I prefer to ride them harder, with sudden bursts of acceleration and deceleration to load the rings better during break in. This way there's a better seal of the combustion chamber.

@@johnnyblue4799 Exactly!You have to run her up a little bit every once in a while when she's new for the reason you said, seat them rings otherwise you'll be adding oil between oil changes because of the blow-by your gonna get if you don't seat them rings. Just run it up and back it down. You see all them new bikes get put on the Dyno to see what they got and their not holding back, they just run it up and back if off. You have the right way to do it. @helmtube
@helmtube 2 жыл бұрын
The feeling is one thing and riding it is another. I know what you are talking about, I also used to and I still do watch lots of motorbike videos and I think I have an opinion. Back to your feelings: Engine sound is personal thing, so I can not comment on this one. But I can comment on quick shifter: It is probably one of the best and smoothest you can get. Maybe this video can not give you this impression, the motorbike was brand new and I was used to BMW r1200rs quick shifter (which is really rough) and motorbike engine characteristics. So after spending some time with my new Suzuki my driving style changed a bit. Now after 4000km I can tell you that I'm very satisfied how quick shifter works. Comment on 100km/h: yes, you are right, I think the same and I'm still not over this one :) My previous motorbike, bmw was running on very low rev when driving 100km/h in sixth gear. Suzuki is, due to it's shorter gearing already starting to be loud. If I remember correctly 6th gear 100km/h revs on ~4500 rpm. But I think some people will and some won't agree with my comment. I think people opinions always depends on which motorcycle did they own before: cruiser, sport, touring ... give it a try and get your own real opinion! Cheers mate!
