Fabulous bike, I have the GSX S 1000 naked 2019. Love it, have considered the GT as well. Great review, and greetings from South Australia. 😎

I've had mine new since 2023. Same thoughts about the stock tyres; they work better when warmed up. At 3000miles I'm ready to put new boots on. Advice on forums is to go to 190/55 (as opposed to 199/50) rear tyre as improves turning response so I'm going to try that. Only other niggle is the hot running tapping which i hope will need to be resolved with the tappet shimming (under warranty). Yours sounds fine, maybe they addressed it on later models. Lol I never realied the caliper was not Brembo on the rear.

Just ordered mine in the candy red. I did put the heated grips on and I also put a rad guard on mine but that's pretty much all I changed. There's a bit of a beast in that bike..

Before 6 k, it is the most gentle comfy, easy to manage bike. after 6k + the dragon comes out and starts to breath and reminds you of its racing heritage. Every moment beyond 6 k feels like its warping into the next dimension. Be safe when doing so. Ive never personally experienced an acceleration curve as exponential as this machine. I bet a pure 1k cc sport version is more so, but yea, it jumps if you are willing to let her scream and will break every speed limit in america in first gear.

When I test rode one of these last year with the touring screen I stopped on the M25 as I genuinely thought something was wrong with the bike, the noise and buffeting was absolutely awful, returned it to the dealer and he changed back to the original and it was night and day better.

Most modern Japanese bikes sound like a sewing machine with stock exhaust 😳, to pass euro 5 of course but I totally get leaving it intact. I live in the states and bought a '19 mt10 with under 1k mi on it a couple of summers ago for dirt cheap. The first thing I did was yank that boat anchor of a catalytic converter from the belly of the beast and put a Yoshimura Alpha T 3/4 cat delete, sprint filter and had the ecu re-tuned or "flashed" which is CRITICAL if you pull essentially the whole emissions system off a bike. Yes, it's very illegal but cops never enforce it. It went from about 133whp stock to 151-152whp but it feels like SUBSTANTIALLY more. Mt10 has very short wheelbase, shorter than an R1, even shorter than a mt09, I've owned a '22 mt09 also. It is loud, sounds absolutely wonderful and let's just say it's wheelie happy! 3rd gear at about 70mph or so, you can just power it up no problem....no clutch needed. It will obviously go putt putt and go slow just fine. Very nice machine you have chosen. I'm sure it will give you many happy miles!

May I ask, how close are you to flat footing? I'm of a similar height and obviously have issues with this on all adventure/sports tourers.

Hello, I can't flat foot but I'm not far off on the balls of my feet with my Daytona boots on... If you haven't seen these boots look at my two videos they have game changed the taller bikes for me so I feel comfortable 👍🙂

I test rode the Ninja SX after I rode the GT and I did find it better but got such a good deal on the GT that I went with it . I'm really happy with the GT and very impressed with the fit, finish and general build quality.

I did a back to back test with the SX. It's a brilliant bike (SX) but i found the GT more 'fun'.
