Thanks for watching, mate! I just got back from a 3 day tour. I have clocked about 5K miles in about 8 months and I have had no problems. I do have to say, Harleys sound pretty good, though. I love to hear the sound of them as they fade away in the background.

Your right about the reliability of the 'Bandit'. I have a 17 year old Bandit 600 which i've owned for 11 years. Not once has it failed me. The engine is bullet proof. I just like riding so i don't care about next years model.

Wow, your story is familiar...after three Harleys, the last being a 2011 Road King, I've bought a Kawasaki ZRX 1200r, Eddie Lawson Replica which is FANTASTIC! I can see myself on a GSX 1250 tourer in a couple of years...all the reports have been very positive..best wishes from Australia.

Wow... thanks for sharing. Your medium range bike would be considered a long range bike by many... often a goldwing or an electraglide cant make it through some places that the developing world throws at us. But the big Bandit CAN. I think its just about adaptability and in my opinion you've got a very capable long range tourer in there too.
@gorillaau2 жыл бұрын
The comparison between the Goldwing and the Bandit isnt totally fair. The closer bike that Honda had was the ST1300 or even ST1100. The Goldwing is a lot of bike, including a lot of fairing and plastic, a lot of sound system. I personally feel they overshot the desire from the medium range touring fans, who wanted something to weave through city traffic, but some fun for the Sunday get out of town.

Nice video honestly liked it. If you can afford 2 new GSX1250F bikes I am sure you could afford some proper Tourer like Honda PanEuropean 1300 and sport bike for example Ninja or GSXr or even R1. This kind of choice wouldn't be better for you? The question is how much you are really into Touring and Sport riding? Thing is that GSXR1250FA is an excellent over 1 ltr all arounder bike. You can do sport, touring and commuting. I think you did a good choice, it doesn't matter In the end of the day the choice is yours and enjoy it no matter what. Blessings

Mind you I was a Suzuki fan long afo with GS1000sz Katana and a GSXR11100w. but I am feeling the itch for a 1250 again although I love the Hayabusa 1 they ugly 2 hard to set up for sport touring unlike the Bandit or ZX14 I actually know people that sport tour the 14 but the engines are not as good as Honda's or Suzuki's in the long run.

So...im 63, im a big guy, 6 ft 3,280 lbs. I own older vintage british bikes and wouldnt trust them to take ne down the street. Am thinking of selling 1 of thrm and buyibg a modern sport tourer or big displacement sport bike...im not s harley guy ir thr cruiser type. But i dont want do the fullbon clip on thing either...so jve narrowed my search down to the bandit 1250, fjr 1300, or the gtr 1400 concours....seems as though price wise the bandit is a no brainer. But i do like the power that bith the yamaha, anf the kawasaki offer. So my question to you is will the bandit get it done as a nice day rider say a brisk 100 mile round tripper on moderate twisty mountain roads? Or plenty of punch to say get a tractor trailer off your ass in the left lane on the interstate? Power is safety when used smartly imo. I know the other 2 bikes got superbike acceleration, but they also weigh as much as a yugo. So is the babdit all realky all that abd a bag of chips? Thanks.

+kyle davis Sorry it has taken soooo long to respond, but sometimes we don't see the comments. First, I don't know about you, but the BMW hurts my private areas. Argghhhh. I have driven the Super T Yamaha and it would be very high on my list of bikes to own. Yamaha FJR and Suzuki GSX1250 are about equal in my opinion. I bought my 1250's for about 9K each because after the Japan Tsunami the dealers over here were dumping them. Even with a Corbin or Sargent seat, the Yamaha and Suzuki both have less than optimum riding positions - you sit a bit hunched over if you are tall. The Super T ... well, it is good for on-road, off-road, touring, or whatever. I think it has tremendous potential and value. For long rides, I just bought a HD Road King. I am thinking about an Indian Chief, too, because, well, life is very short and I am getting near the end of my ability to ride on two wheels. Maybe a HD trike sometime in my future. At any rate, thanks for watching our videos and again, sorry the comments took so long.
@saulocpp8 жыл бұрын
+kyle davis I don't know if you already bought your bike since it is 5 months old. From my experience, and I come from very long distance touring with HD (if you check my old videos), the little money I put on a GSX600F was FAR MORE worth than all the money I dumped on HDs. Think of a GSX as the ultimate word in reliability, I don't care about what people say, I don't give a shit, more than half of ALL of the FIM endurance championships were won by a Suzuki motorcycle, this tells you something. You will never regret putting your money on a 1250FA. Don't worry, you can do Iron Butts on an FA no problem.
@JamesCurl_aka_RedonKiLaus8 жыл бұрын
I love my GSX1250FA's. You can check the Metrickmetal website, and he has brackets that allow you to move your rear pegs, or another set of pegs, forward for highway riding. I changed the seat on my Suzuki, but wish I had of bought a Corbin - I hear they are more comfortable. My only other issue for long distance is the handlebars are a bit low. You will need to replace the clutch and brake hydraulic lines to put risers/pullbacks on. Oh, and with the Givi D270S windscreen and it's partner deflector (see my videos for info), the bike can be more than awesome for long distances. Reliability, as mentioned by Saulo, is 2nd to none. Great bikes.
@saulocpp8 жыл бұрын
+Jake Curl Is your touring experience with a different kind of bike? My background is custom with tall ape hangers, and getting rid of old habits now with a sports tourer is difficult. I find myself with straight arms putting weight on the handle bars, and within a few minutes my wrists protest. Then I do as I should: lay a bit on the tank and flex the arms, making the wrists not to point downwards. Maybe you could try a more "aggressive" stance? It works for me very well.

You bought 2 motorcycles from SAME model ?!?!? And you call one as a sport bike and the other one short-medium-touring bike!?!?!? Same bike just with Givi panniers !?!?!? You just couldn't bought one bike and put on/off the panniers????? Whats the LOGICAL REASON for this !?!?!?

I bought two for a few reasons, the most important being convenience. I did not want to have to take off a luggage rack and luggage every time I wanted to go fast, nor did I want to have to swap between sport and touring windscreens, which would be a huge hassle. I also figured since I could comfortable afford the bikes, why not get both. Thanks for watching!

Why do these GSX 1250FA's look exactly like the Suzuki Bandit? They stopped making the Bandit and went to GSX 1250FA, Now for 2016 there is no more GSX 1250FA, but now it's Bandit 1250. It's the same bike and the MSRP is $9,984.00.
@JamesCurl_aka_RedonKiLaus8 жыл бұрын
+Robert Brumley And to complicate it even more, outside of the US they still sell the GSX1250FA with the full lower fairing. I wrote Suzuki and asked if I could join their marketing department. I am guessing Suzuki USA marketing is a bunch of non-riders. LOL.

Lost the plot on this one. What is a medium touring bike ?. The GSX 1250 with its high gearing and relaxed riding position is one of the best long distance bikes ever.
@redonKiLaus8 жыл бұрын
Medium tourer in the size sense - this bike sits between sport and full touring bikes. I find the gearing to be great, but the riding position quite uncomfortable for anything but around-town use (which is what I use mine for now). Thanks for watching!
@tonyinfinity8 ай бұрын
I wouldn't use "exciting" to describe this. These are dirt cheap used, they don't hold their value very well. They are sub 100HP which is nothing for 1250cc's, my ZX-6 had 110 hp and got 60 MPG. Suzuki should've just used a 900cc version of their GSXR1000 engine and they would've had 120hp and got 50 MPG
