After 10 years with my '99 ZX9R (which I loved) I felt like it's time for something new. I also got annoyed of the Carb problem which I got every year after wintersleep for the last years of owning... anyway In September 2021 I bought a GSX-R 1000 K7 black orange with 14.xxx km on it from it's first owner (which was a 59 year old Lady) for 5600€ and I love it. Amazing bike and like new

Well said pal, it’s the raw experience. MT10 only have few of the rider aids and I still struggle with turning them all off 😂 When K8 came out new they were twin exhaust but trust me bud, 4 into 1 sounds the bollocx 🤭 I’ve been to SBF couple of times just for a mooch, I’ve seen some bikes there that wasn’t even washed before displayed in the showroom, maybe if someone haven’t got much clue can get stung there but surely there’s some mint gems worth buying and you’re the good example of it 👍 Safe rides Mr Jonny boy 🤙

I'm in a very similar situation, one year ago I went into the dealership looking for a used 09 R1 on a Saturday morning... the bike had just been sold 😢 With a sad face on my way out I glanced through a 2009 GSXR1000... 1 hour later it was mine. I do not regret it 1 bit... and I totally subscribe to what you're saying... get one of them while you can

Honestly, 6 grand for this bike is a bargain. It really is. Front brakes upgrade is a must. K-tech valving for the front forks and K-tech spring for the rear would transform ride quality, or rear full damper even better.

Yeah the brakes are a bit poo

@@JonnyLeeguitarist was the master cylinder changed as recall? This helps, but to get that properly sorted go for RCS19. Callipers from MY2009 are great upgrade, braided lines as well. I got all above, but I also went for HEL billet callipers. That’s one finger stoppies setup. OEM brake discs are superb.

Have a 2007 Repsol Fireblade,Great bike, had it for 3 years but now the engine is knackered, decided not to do the engine rebuild/replacement as too expensive. Want a K4-K7 gsxr for the next bike.

The only reason any of these Japanese bikes end up with a knackered engine is down to shitty maintenance. Blows my mind hearing engines are stuffed on any 20 year old bike, but then again there's an increasing amount of knobs ends in the world.

It’s one of the K7 standard colour scheme (but the bike 07-08 is exactly the same) with Arrows that they were offered as free extras from the dealers. Top bike
@loftyintentions1985 Жыл бұрын
I got my k7 from Donnington. Twelve year old front tyre, cct had failed and they replaced the neutral light when it needed the gps replacing. Also the mechanic didn't put the side fairings on properly which means there's a horrible stress fracture down the front, right side fairing. Only reason i bought it was because it only had two owners (one female), super low miles for its age and it was stock apart from tail tidy. So yeah, supershitfactory. I've heard they're basically webuyanybike. So as long as the fluids are topped up, they'll sell any old shit. Not sure how true that is though.
@JonnyLeeguitarist Жыл бұрын
This wasn’t that bad to be honest, but the BMW gs adventure I bought off them was full of problems . I won’t buy another bike off them again .
@loftyintentions1985 Жыл бұрын
@@JonnyLeeguitarist They're so hit and miss when it comes to mechanical standards and clearly not shy when selling vehicles that are or near to being unroadworthy. You've definitely got to have some good knowledge about what you're looking at and I definitely wouldn't let someone buy their first bike from them. Btw, I don't think you're arrow pipes are standard and if not, it might be worth getting it on a dyno to see if the engine is running too lean. Especially if they've put an aftermarket air filter in it too. Anyway your k8 looks absolutely mint. So much tech on bikes now that you're not riding the bike anymore. The bike rides you.
