Cheers for making the video, Kate. Been eyeing up 125s during lockdown and between your video, PistonHeadChaz's and others I've gone for this one over the Yamaha YZF-R125. Taking delivery next week. Excited as it's my first bike. Hopefully won't be too big for it.

When i was 17 I wanted a sporty looking bike so i had 2 stroke 125's (A Cagiva Mito and an Aprilia RS125) and when they were de-restricted you could get about 30bhp from them. Although i seem to remember my dad having to rebuild both of them so it was quite a hassle to own one long term. I don't think these 4 stroke 125's will have the same issues and they look pretty cool.

ahhhh, finesse, balance, and control... good to see you enjoying yourself. One peeve, about the bike, and bikes of a similar ilk, is that because they are considered not 'serious' they don't get the good quality components, brakes, tyres, suspension. Why not hiit the manufacturers up for quality gear on the smaller bike? Now that would be a 'scalpel'...
@UsernameKate5 жыл бұрын
I guess they're built to a budget and purpose. I think on a bike of 15 bhp, maybe manufacturers see super high quality components as a little overkill perhaps? I don't know, just my thoughts. But for anyone serious about their 125 and wanting to keep it long term, there are some pretty tasty aftermarket goodies out there 😋😎 thanks for the comment, appreciate it 👍
@walkerjian5 жыл бұрын
There were some good quality small capacity sport bikes out there though, moto morini springs to mind. Don't know what they are like now though. The old two strokes (RGV, RZ maybe) as well as the Cagivas. Be nice to have a modern fuel injected small capacity, light and flicky, bike with primo bits on it - Ohlins, brembos, etc. I don't know of any available at the moment...

For next year I'll probably be upgrading from ma baby Gixxer to like a Triumph Daytona 675R. So I do need to get as much experience in as I can now. :D
@UsernameKate5 жыл бұрын
@@shiznuts 675R eh?! What an excellent aspiration. I haven't ridden one but would love to test a Street Triple 765 RS, as that's potentially my next bike. The Daytona is a stunning bike though, a perfect step up if you want to keep on with sportsbikes 👍 keep riding and keep safe.
@shiznuts5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's not that much in the current 600cc-market that classifies as a supersport. A 2nd hand Triumph Daytona 675R seems to fit the bill quite nicely and I LOoOve the sound it produces (and I think the earlier model with the underseat exhaust is sexay). Triumph does provide that 765cc engines to the next season's Moto2 class... hopefully... maybe... they'll do a Daytona version too! The 44Teeth guys had a look at that Moto2 prototype of theirs... ooh la la. I could also do with that Aprilia RS660 Concept that looks production-ready at EICMA. :P But we'll see. Was just watching your CBR600RR vid at Anglesey! What a sound! And what a skill! :D Impressive. Also see you went on a Eurotrip and brought the KTM back to its roots here in Austria (I'm a Dutchie living and working in Vienna, after 10 years heading back to the Netherlands next year, right next to the circuit of Zandvoort, been doing 2 years of 125s here in Austria as a full licence is a b*tch to get here but is eazy breezy back home). Need to watch what you've been up to and get inspired it seems! :D
