Lads don't be afraid to buy this bike. I've traded my 650 dl for this because I was using it mostly for commuting and doing speed limits on motorways, and gsx s125 will do exactly that except it will be much cheaper and more convenient. This bike still feels torque'y even in 5th gear, you will be able to overtake anything that maintains speed. Sitting position is comfortable for long trips yet puts you in slight aggressive lean keeping you sharp and not wanting to take a nap like on sport tourers. Brakes on this thing are ridiculously good, ABS is very difficult to trigger and even if so, pulsing is easily noticeable yet very gentle and not intimidating. Seat is very low, great for people who are not flexible yet mounting this thing gives lots of pleasure as straigh away it puts you in position, my dl 650 was making me have to adjust myself. On gsx s125 you literally hop on, turn it with easy start and ride off, it takes 5 seconds if you're in a rush. Screen is very easy to read, Informative and there is no glare, not once had a problem seeing reading. Sound is best around in 125cc class. When in neutral this thing doesn't sound like 125, more like 400cc with deeper sound. This bikes does not sound like a scooter or "fart" machine. It's whiny at higher revs but in a good way, engine will scream in a pleasurable way letting you know it can handle much more if you want more revs. It's so light that you can jog with it in full gear and don't break a sweat, it's weight is not intimidating at all. Super easy to clean as engine cover doesn't have that many crevasses and gaps, and all fairings are such that one swipe with a cloth will leave them shiny. This was a very good choice I've made, This bike will let you commute extremely fast, will let you do weekend trips and will keep up with other vehicles on motorway, being able to go to 120-130 kmph if it's not windy and you're willing to lay your chest on the tank.

Ridden one for 7.5k miles now, city and country riding. The ABS light doesnt engage but theres very slight judder in the pedal on the rear which comes on. ABS does get confused with white lines so does lock up sometimes if travelling over them. The RPM shift light can be turned on to the specified RPM if wanted. Its bright white and can be set to flashing or static... personally its very irritating so i leave it off (especially night riding). The handling is the best ive had so far, i can throw this around in traffic and still maintain stability in semi-strong side wind. The display is also very decent in the fact that at a quick glance i know my RPM, gear and my speed within a fraction of a second. 2 trip timers.... nothing to brag about. I really cant vouch for this as a beginner bike enough. Hopefully will be taking my test when I get the time, but still think id use this every day for my commute. Wouldnt swap it for anything else.

From what I have been told, The ABS lights are always on until you go over 6mph, On light, ABS inactive basically (counter-intuitive much?) After all, if its active under those speeds you'll never fully pull to a stop. Once you're over 6mph the light go off to state it is active and working, should it flash at any time, take it in to be serviced and looked at as it may have developed a fault. I'm not sure if Suzuki followed suit in this, however! But that what the tech guys at Honda told me

Running-In is not a "myth" if you want to (a) retain your warranty and (b) prolong the life of the engine. It IS a myth that you can thrash the hell out of a brand new engine and achieve (a) + (b); the difference now, in the present day, is that you wont see visible damage if you do thrash a new engine eg: oil leaks, cracked casings etc etc.
@spicy11010 ай бұрын
Ok so what about the the 8 odd mins of redline they run the engine at on the test bench before it's fitted in a bike?
@clivecartey10 ай бұрын
@@spicy110 the answer is in your statement. By the way, this is what Suzuki actually does....... "...... it takes about 90 minutes to assemble a complete engine. Once the engine is complete, oil is added and it moves to a machine that spins the engine at about 1,000 rpm through the countershaft. This works all of the internal components and circulates the oil, while at the same time a worker inspects the engine for leaks. The engine is then put into a special crate and delivered to the assembly plant......" The engine is then placed under a Manufacturers Warranty. So its hardly the same as the thrashing of a new motorcycle engine for You Tube ratings.

How does the motorcycle license work in the US? In the UK we have a weird progressive license system that restricts us to certain bikes until we get a full license (CBT/a1: 125cc, a2: 500cc/47hp max, a: full license). It's also age restricted, you can't do your full a license until you're 24, and can only ride up to a 125 if you're younger than 19. Because of this, 125s are really popular obviously for the younger motorcyclists.

What I don’t like is that this comes with skinny tires and the whole profile of a commuter , it looks so anorexic , I’m now deciding between a cb125r and this one .

And so, which one did you finally choose ? I'm hesitating for the same reason as well !

Djodj Channel I got fooled by an english fucker who was looking to make money so I ended up with a a neglected supermoto I had to bring back to life . Both are great , CBR is a hard working horse from honda and this suzuki is amazing as well , heard nothing but good about it , decent top speed , comfy ride , nice design , its up to what appeals to you in terms of design

This Is a FAR CRY from my RD LC 125 MK 2 YEIDS this was the early YPVS/YAMAHA POWER VALVE SYSTEM 2 stroke and consisted of a boost bottle expansion tank that recirculated unburnt/belched petrol from the carbs(Yamaha energy induction system) and I had no trouble overtaking any car travelling at 70mph one up or two up and travelled at 80mph on my own at any day of the week. It is about time ABS was employed to all learner bikes as this, in my opinion, is where this technology should be implemented and for the love of GOD why is there an anti-wheelie gizmo on the latest CBR 1000RR I GIVE UP. If anybody can defend or explain the anti-wheelie gizmo on the latest bikes, BMW included, please feel free to leave me a message as I would love to know:)

Most are 11 kw, some are a bit less, but Suzuki,Kawa,Honda and Yamaha all make 11 kw, difference in weight is small, but this Suzuki is the lightest of all at 133 kg wet.. Others are around 145 kg wet. SO thats the only difference

But if break ins are a myth then why do manufacturers reccomend them? Surly it's to cover their asses. But then it must be based on something. Only logical reason i can think would be that they're simply stuck in the past. I wonder where engineers stand on this issue
@spicy1105 жыл бұрын
Basically there is a few reasons but one yes it's a left over from the past when tolerances were not as good. (Keeping in mind every engine will be bench tested so run to high revs for a while before you buy it) also legal issues if they tell someone to just go for it yer the engine might be fine but brakes and tyres etc aren't scrubbed in people might try to blame them for a crash.

I always thought that whomever made your licensing laws must not be a rider themselves. I would ride a 125 but to be honest i find them riskier on the road than the bikes 200 to 400cc range because you can’t get out of anyones way if you have to be on the highway. They would have been better off having a bit more motor with a governer for newer riders so you can pass just slightly better or even just not have newer riders go on faster highways with a 125 because a small bike on a congested highway can be terrifying to a new rider. Decades ago i started on a 125 but I have rural slower highways so it wasnt as big of a deal. But i never would have tried a freeway on it purposedly
@ndperson16 жыл бұрын
I like small bikes, I am just saying your laws seem to be designed by people that don’t actually ride so they dont get that a 125 can almost be more dangerous in certain areas than just a slightly bigger bike (even a 150 would help a lot, but a 200 to 250 cc would have been a lot more logical safety wise)
@ANDY1985UK20116 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Bauer they think that more power causes the accidents but in reality it's either cars and lorries or risky riding
