I bought that one, blue, in 1976 when I started college. Rode it all over Texas, New Mexico, then moved to the south east and rode it all over North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida. Lots of low-end grunt for a 2-stroke and reliable as a hammer. At 30,000 miles I took the top end off for a look and everything was perfect. Crosshatch, bearings, rings. Nothing but Bel-Ray Si-7 it's entire time with me. Sold it in 1984.

Ahh...the Maui Blue '76 model...loved it! Bought mine new at $AU999 when 750 K2s were $AU1499...with a drop down of 1 cog on the drive gear...would stay with the K2 on the open road, leave them behind on a good twisty mountain roads and it improved fuel economy by about 20% [though logic said it should've used more fuel] Truly wish I still had it! That Posi-Force Oiling System with the Electronic Ignition made this bike so reliable...

My girl friend dropped her heals riding pillion, and stuck to the exhaust. Took me ages to get the pipes clean😎😁loved the bike my first full licence bike 1975.
