Niiice!! Don't you just love the chirping sound and the immediate throttle response!! I just installed mines from Jet Labs Saturday and man do I love it!

Terrell I thought I was the only one who liked that sound! LOL. Good deal, Danny does a good job with them, crazy how he has them pretty much dialed right out of the box.

@@PatrickRiggs33 haha! The crazy thing is, it wasnt until I got this fcr carb that I realized where that cool sound came from that I'd hear on dirt bikes and 450s! Lol just the sound alone make ya feel like you got some power! Lollol and yeaaaah the only thing I had to do is idle it down a tiny bit! And I mean it fires right on up everytime at the push of the button no hesitation! Love it! I dont have a go pro but I hope to use my tripod to get just a few clips riding around some of the fields near the house if it dont rain tomorrow!

@@TerrellSpivey Yep I hear ya! That FCR sound is addictive. Even my buddies old kx250f sounded good at idle or putting around through the parking lot. That flat side just sounds sweet when its wide open! Sounds good set something up and get some cool shots 🤙

@@PatrickRiggs33 oh word! That's what's up! I actually found your video on the z400 fbpage under Kyle Propers fcr post! So I'm guessing you're a member of that page too! Idk if you've seen this video of mines on there before, but this is some shots of me riding with the tm40 flatslide carb. It has much better throttle response than The stock carb, but its nothing like the fcr! kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGm0g6qfrKpkbtU

That thing sounds like it pulls pretty dam good, I just ordered a TM36 Pumper for my 400 and I honestly can’t wait to get it on and go for a rip! The BSR just feels mushy, especially pinning it in 3rd or 2nd trying to get up and going. My thoughts are since I have a set of Stage 1 hotcams, go with a stock size venturi pumper carb, slap a higher compression piston in there and call it good. I have a feeling those two things alone will level out the power nicely and make it pull EVERYWHERE. And…. Im kinda jealous of your quad a little bit…. lol!!

Man, you get a new subscriber. I really like your Z400. I have one myself and am thinking of changing the carburetor as well. Can you give feedback? It's good? Worth the investment? I already saw that I will need the YFZ450 cable. But can I use with universal thumb throttle? Or does it have to be specific?
@PatrickRiggs334 жыл бұрын
Hey Jorge, thanks for subscribing! Thank you very much, it's a solid machine. The FCR is totally worth it, and an excellent stepping stone if you have future plans for a big bore, cams, etc... I would only do it if you plan on keeping the Z400. If you have an itch to get rid of it for a 450 then don't do it. It's a simple swap, I recommend Jet Lab carbs. Danny will set it up however you want. You will need a YFZ Cable and a Honda or Yamaha threaded style thumb throttle housing. I used a 400ex one, I'm on an Urmosi now 😎

@@PatrickRiggs33 I have the bike for about a year, it always stopped, because I don't have much time to ride. I am thinking of preparing a little more than usual. Arms, suspension, and a little bit of engine. The carburetor is not for now , it is to be done over time. I'm also not thinking of selling the bike, at least until I know how to ride 100%.

I am looking into buying a LTZ400 and just wondering do you prefer the carb models over the FI? If you could do it over do you wish you would have gotten an 09+?
@PatrickRiggs333 жыл бұрын
Excellent question. I had an 06' LTR450 which was EFI and I loved it. However in the Z400 the carb models are the way to go. They are lighter, the FCR carb mod will make them way more responsive than the EFI Models, and I feel like they are better supported in the aftermarket vs. the EFI Models.
