Suzuki Samurai and other older vehicles wont start every time. They have a clicky starter problem, This is the solution.

I have noticed on several samurai that if you let out on the clutch the push it in again the starter will start turning over again.

Mine does this thing where you have to keep turning the key over and over to get it to crank

If you have a weak horn or want to run a couple of Louder ones, get/install a cheap automotive relay, it works for me, cleaning contacts didn't help

My '87 Samurai did the clicking thing and eventually wouldn't start at all. Got a new starter, no luck, then got the same kit you showed, installed it, and it still wouldn't start but began to smoke. Tested all connections and found that by removing the fat black wire from the solenoid (from the bolt closest to the starter housing) the engine cranks juust fine. Now I wonder what the purpose of that wire is and where it goes to. The Chilton manual calls it the 'field coil wire'. As an amateur I have no clue what that is. However the rig runs. So far. But I don't want to screw it up. Any clues?

Bro I think this is the issue with mine on my 1987 Suzuki samurai the only way I can get To start is to jump the car by putting the positive on the battery in the ground negative to the solenoid let me know what you think
