Күн бұрын

In this week video we have a Suzuki Swift 2014 with left rear brake pad stuck seized in place, causing only one side the pad to wear down to the metal and also make noise while driving.
i'll take you through the process of disassembly, cleaning preparing it and fitting it back in...
Hey everybody, Igor here from Cars Exposed thanks for tuning in.
I will be uploading videos here every week Thursday at 18:30 sharing my experiences working around cars on my driveway, exposing issues, auto repair, auto electric, oil changes, services, projects and more...
Cheers 👍

Nice igor, wee tip for ye although it wasnt shown. The slider pin with the rubber goes on the trailing edge. Suzuki would be crosshead JIS, looks like a philips but isnt, cheers dave

dave sterl thanks Dave I should have mentioned about the pin with the rubber good tip, i have to be honest I wasn’t aware of the JIS screw until Ive watched your videos I was expecting the Suzuki to have but I believe I used a JIS bit without realising, I will check and maybe do a quick review on the impact driver from Halfords I think it came with JIS bit, I bought some vessel JIS bit and compared them and they are exactly the same cheers 👍👍👍

Nice, good and careful work, properly and thoroughly done. On my Jazz (which got me to your channel in the first place with the Jazz exhaust episode) my driver side front was stuck solid too, but in this case it was the caliper piston stuck rock solid in its cylinder, absolutely immovable, pads and disc fine, so I had to buy a new caliper assembly (34quid ebay) and all is fine now. Your workmanship is very good, thanks for the video. Best wishes from Alan, in Norfolk.

Nicely done there, I think some garages do rush jobs on brakes so it is cheaper and the customer thinks they're getting a bargain but it's a total false economy. Do you do this as your main job or a bit on the side?
@CarsExposed
@CarsExposed 4 жыл бұрын
Lee Smith thanks mate... I believe it does happen but in this case the girl owner of the car told me her Mum’s boyfriend replaced the pads not long ago at home... It’s a bit on the side trying to build some experience as I love to work on cars and hopefully have my own garage in the near future 👍👍👍 cheers

The discs I got have an alignment screw hole keeping the disc in place that doesn’t line up with the hub, I thought they must be the wrong part but I checked and they are correct for my car….the wheel nuts hold the disc in place obviously when the wheel is on but I’m still concerned that the hole doesn’t line up and I have no screw in there.
