Hope you are still enjoying it. Just bought a 78 TS125. Using your videos extensively to rebuild it. Have to laugh cuz mine not only has a speedometer and odometer, but actually buttons for high and low beams, but no key so gas tank, seat, and fork are all locked.

Bud.... Your your own person, I get it... If I could send you a picture of whats left of my right knee... You do away with them shorts.... Yeah people told me the same thing... Dress for the slide, not the ride.... But I had to learn for myself. Great vid as always...

awesome man, doing my own ts185 up atm and i believe the the reason these bikes are so good down low is because of the expansion chamer because it expands later down the pipe it is tuned for more torque at lower rpms but they rip either way

Great how you fixed the carb. I love unusual solutions, if they work. So much more exciting to watch too. Also good to see that you did not give up, although everything seemed to fight you.

Like, comment, subscribe, hit the bell..... Dude we know how it works.. 👍 I’ve done the same thing pull the carburetor off 100 times, sometimes they are just wore out.. My advice would be to stick a new two-stroke Mikuni or something on it and don’t look back. Then you’ll hit 88 mph and travel back in time.... 😳

You could have used Locktite sleeve retainer on the jet holder. You only have one shot to install it so put alignment marks before you apply it. You need heat to remove if you make a misteke, but its in there for good.

I wonder how she would perform with a whole new carb unit. If I may offer just one suggestion... after you paint your tanks (on all your bikes), put a coat of 2k clear coat on them so they're chemical resistant against fuel.
@lbdrummer35 жыл бұрын
Looking good, you'll get way more speed when you get the jetting dialed in. Listen to the guy that said to wear gear made to slide. Leathers saved my hide on the street once.

The problem that you are having is that there is a small brass washer that the main jet holds in the jet tube, get online and find another carb from a salvage yard

DUDE honestly. please. before you buy new plates for the yzf, take the friction plates out, blow them dry with an air compressor ,absolute dry, then oil for 24 hours in MOTOCROSS oil, synthetic and mineral oil make the friction plates slip ALOT. Oil isn't just oil , oil has alot of different components for each type of engine.
@GoldGuyRides5 жыл бұрын
New friction plates fixed the clutch problem. Video will be ip.

you could get the ts100er with ts125 tuning cyllinder and better exhaust then it would hit around 130 so your should probably get it atleast 150 if tunecorectly and a better exhaust or something

I skip watched a few vids in this TS 185 'resto'. What a horror show, looked more like butchery than mechanics. Everything I saw was wrong, working on the floor, smacking the magneto with a hammer, drilling out the main jet with the jet in his fingers , putting a new chain on very worn sprockets, spray painting random parts gold. Decides 'I'm just gonna use premix, forget about the oil pump', the pump will run dry and seize its drive shaft. It's a lesson on how not to restore on a bike.
