Givi Top Box Install

Hey just finished installing a V47 on a 650 (2022) and wanted to share some issues I had. Firstly I noticed the first two back spacers would fall through the holes. I had to first install the side support handles so that the top part of the handles would prevent the spacers from falling (this only happened with the back spacers). Also I didn't have a vertical mount so keeping the spacers in place was difficult but possible using my own weight to counter balance the bike into a vertical position. I should also mention that tightening the back part of the screws both behind the support handle bars and the back screws under the support itself using an allen key was rather difficult as the plastic of the under part of the bike gets a little in the way. The brake light also got in the way of my allen key to tighten the screws, but I was able to cover it with a plastic bag to prevent scratching and slowly push my allen key into a position I could tighten the screws. Hopefully this will help future viewers, but thank you so much for the video it was spot on!

Good vid. What are your thoughts on leaving in those original bushings that came with the original bolts, and putting the spacers on top of them? I’m mid install here, and it seems to me like it can’t hurt, and may even be required for the rack components to make contact with the rack spacers. I’m leaving them in, but I’d appreciate hearing your take on it.

Hey there, I've said hello in a couple of Livechats before. I have a Kawasaki Vulcan S with the Givi Passenger Backrest and I'm looking for a topcase/top box that I could use without removing the backrest, could this tip box be turned, on e turn to the left or right so that the top doesn't open into the backrest, but to the left or right? Is it a square, which is why I ask, the other Givi are oblong/almost egg-shaped. Thanks for your help

Hi. I remember you. I went out to my garage and looked at the top case on my Vstrom. It is nearly square, however the latch which secures it to the mounting bracket is at the back, and the bracket cannot be mounted sideways. The only side opening top case I can think of is the Harley style tour pack, which I have seen mounted on other cruisers. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Yes I had planned to do the Trans Labrador Highway this year. But who knows what we can do these days. I had planned some great campsites along the way, like Gros Morne in Newfoundland, Pinware River, Labrador and others. Been planning it for nearly a year and I thought I had it all covered, but a virus?? That wasn't even on the radar!! Thanks for watching my channel. I really appreciate it.

I just installed my Givi top box with the same mounting kit (SRA3112). It looks like they shipped me two of the same underside support arms. They are both for the left side from the riders perspective. These two arms should be mirror images of each other I assume?
