Did it. Thanks. Needed to compress the piston some more. Just used an ordinary G clamp and a piece of metal to bridge across the piston.

Thank you, these methods also worked on a Sidekick, though the lower bolt is 13mm, and I had to use a C-clamp to compress the caliper piston.

Some pad sets come with new bolts so you may get a variation in bolt size if they have been changed before.

I was always taught to change the pads out one by one so the old one would hold the clips up

Great info, I hope it's that easy on my new to me 2003 Chevrolet Tracker. One thing I have to ask though, if I did need to replace my rotors, is it worth the money to buy "sport" rotors (the ones that are drilled and veined) for these vehicles? (OEM equivalent rotors are about 50 a pair, sport ones 75, and I just assume that I need rotors as I feel a pronounced pulsating during braking, and the brakes squeal as well)

Before you do this make sure you undo the cap on top of the brake pot or else you''l run the risk of popping seals

Absolutely not the way to replace pads, no copper slip applied for even lubrication.

This video contains several errors and bad practices, no cleaning, no lubrication, you treat the discs as if you were going to throw them away, it is not changing to change, the brakes are a security issue.

Next time try taking the bottom bolt off the caliper that way you don't have it falling down and pinching your fingers
