Suzuki VStrom SX 250 Review (after 2500km) from a KTM Duke 250 Rider.

I sold my KTM Duke 250 BS4 and purchased Storm last year (Dec 2022). Done with first service. Sharing my feedback after riding the bike for more than 2500km. (Pros & Cons)
Will come up with another video to show the modification I have done on my bike.

A gem of a bike actually. Very similar to the fz250. Both unpopular and criminally underrated, but solid all rounders. Found the vsstorm to be just a tad better at cruising and the fz a tad better at acceleration !

I'm a vstrom owner too, boutght it in oct and crossed about 10k kms till now, Few points from my side: >If you have good trottle control, cruising at 75 can give you a mileage upto 46 (tried and tested). >Rev matching is key as the gearbox is clunky at lower speeds, you have to know the machine to ride smoother. >3 services done and front brakepad change , total cost is under 3000 ( ceramic pads costs 1k - recommended) > you have to maintain the chain well, mine havent been loose till now, and running smoothly, Use only chain cleaner. >if you are not a serious offroader i dont recommend crashguards n sfuff, as it adds more wheight and a bit chunky in my opinion, Bike as it is very flickable and corner friendly, Coming to how i corner! : for low speeds i just counter lean, for medium and u turns , feet forward and counter lean, and for fast ones, knee down. I dont know if these are right way to go but for me these are the way to go. >climbing speeds gives vibes but once it sits on that speed for a few, the vibes go away, just have to give the bike time to relax i think xD. >if you feel excessive vibes, go the service center and tell them to toque to spec on the engine side and mounts. Thats all for now folks xD Suzuki has a pretty bad marketing strategy on this one, noone knows about this bike and dont know why its so special. Hire a new team suzuki, get good geez.. @@nanichan3926 nop, no major issues so far and runs just fine. How ever this is not an offroad bike, yes it can go mild offroading n stuff but dont go hard with it. Its made for touring and it does it pretty damm well, hills and steeps can be easily ridden with pillion and luggage.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Can you please help me with some queries? I am planning to buy this bike. I don't go off-road. I am a regular guy. Home to work - work to home. So, mostly, city traffic. My major reason for buying this bike is road conditions, I am fed up with the road conditions of my city. My questions are: 1. Is this bike comfortable in bumper-to-bumper traffic? 2. How is the suspension? Heard it's hard. My major concern is comfort. I don't want to feel bumps/potholes/speed breakers. 3. What is the maintenance cost on average? Per month or every 3 months? What does general service cost? And what does it cost if any additional parts need to be replaced? 4. And lastly, how much did it cost you on the road? Your response will be really helpful and appreciated

This is an absolute no-nonsense bike. Amazingly smooth engine, great mileage, long ride without heating the engine much and great seat comfort makes this bike one of the most underrated in its segment. Its a mile muncher with great touring ability.

Very nice review👌 I will buy the VStrom 250 SX if Suzuki increase the suspension travel, increase the tank capacity to 15 litres, slightly taller handlebars with a revised peg position for ease of riding when standing up on the pegs, also give switchtable ABS, a bit more low end torque and a stronger light.

As a fz 25 owner i feel the bike is really comfortable for my 6 ft height,but the midrange has a flat spot the 3rd gear ingear acceleration is poor.have you noticed it 4000 to 6000rpm hav to downshift to 2nd everytime in traffic,in highway its superb in 100kmph.but left side handlebar pulling exist

I would not ride this bike with pillion on board in hill areas. I kind of feel it robs away the performance. Go solo and it will definitely make you more than happy.

I've yet to try that. I can downshift from 6th till 1st gear standstill but haven't tried upshift.

ASG Easy Grip phone mount. I’ve used Bobo as well. I find ASG better in terms of gripping the phone when riding hard/off-roading. Easy Grip is more like RAM Mount. Those crash guard are from hyperrider.in

Hi 360 Dude , I am ordering a VStrom 250 this coming week , I noticed the crash bar on your bike that covers the tank area . Could you please tell me the brand of crash bar and where to get one . I have looked at Suzuki dealers for one and the only one they have is a small engine guard type , whereas the one you have is much better for the ADV aspect of the bike , cheers , in Australia , Qld , Sunshine coast ,, Enjoyed your video ,

Thanks for your feedback, mate! Means a lot! You can buy this crashguard from hyperrider.in website. I believe they can ship it to your location. There are other brand who makes crash guard for Vstorm but those are heavy when compared. Hope this helps, cheers!

@@ykarthickeyan so I purchased a Maddog switch & wiring harness from VGears Hyderabad store located near Kukatpally. They suggested a local technician. I can’t seem to remember the name of that repair shop but its closeby from Vgears. You may wanna walk-in and ask them just in case.

Not that great but I won't say bad too. I know my tool so I'm not really worried as such. Regular service parts are available but anything other than that needs to be ordered in advance. I've seen worse having owned a ktm.

Please buy Gixxer 150 rear monoshock assembly , the Red coloured one. It is a direct fit. Same size. This makes the bike perfect with same suspension rating front and rear, soft yet not soggy. My Gixxer SF 250 is fitted with this for the past 6K km. I can vouch for this alteration.

I'm planning to buy my 1st bike but puzzled btw mt15 and vstorm as touring will be rare thing like 1 or 2 times a year but still im worried if it is possible to mount luggage on mt15 or not

MT15 is pretty small for strapping luggage. If you’re planning to carry lot of stuff for touring then go with Vstrom. See your preference as both bikes have different purposes but you won’t regret buying them.

I am bit confused between Suzuki and Scram 411 Have saw the reviews of Suzuki like front suspension is not good for potholes at a speed of 70 to 100 kmph? Any other concerns you want to highlight from service side? How about the handle bar position as compared to proper touring bike like Himalayan or KTM ADV

I don’t have any issue with front suspension. It’s good enough for managing our road condition. The bar position is neutral and comfortable. You may want to add a handlebar riser for saddling.

Not really! The odo reading is accurate and precise. In fact the speedo console shows correct average mileage.

Not really but I felt a little vibe on the peg once you cross 110 till 120. The vibration goes away once I cross 120 plus.

I was able to clock 157 on speedo console. Vbox speed should be around 150 kmph. Comfortable crushing speed is 110-115 without straining the engine. Hope this helps.

You won't be able to flat foot but that shouldn't be the reason to ignore this bike. You can move the bike around by using one leg (light weight big advantage); just need to get use to it. I'm 5.8 and I cannot flat foot (short inseam).
