Hi Suzy....such a clear explanation for the thumbs! I've been going around in circles about thumbs for months! Thank you!

Thank you so much for your patience in teaching us all of this. I'm not crying from frustration anymore over my Addi since you've explained the little tips and tricks. I'm incredibly happy to also see that we're able to decrease and increase on this wonderful machine. I've knitted with a flatbed manual knitting machine for years but was looking for something that didn't involve so much preliminary set-up. The Addi machines have been time savers and are really so much fun to use because they're much easier to use at start up. Thank you for helping restore my confidence! Angel Blessings!

Hi. CONGRATULATIONS. I've never watched a video IN FULL. Its Fast Forward and when they find they have come across a problem they stop the video FIX THEIR MISTAKES and start showing the end of their work. Frustration 🤨. You spent a good deal of time from the BEGINNING to the END with no FF or cheating to complete your project. That was fantastic. A pleasure to watch and I enjoyed every second, sometimes holding my breath when you picked up stitches 🤣😂💕. I seem to get hooked to this machine. 😁 I dont have a CIRCULAR MACHINE but I intend investing in one. I have 2 Electronic Knitting Machines a Brother and Singer but never tried socks or mittens on them. Too lazy. I noticed that ALL YOUR VIEWERS are in full admiration and full of appreciation for this super great in detail video. Thanks for sharing caring and making a 70 year oldie SMILE 🥰👍👍👍👍👍💐💐💐💐💐💓💓💓

Very nice video, Suzy! Do you use the blanket stitch to sew up the thumb from the inside or outside? Also, is there a way (other than using a double strand of yarn--because the Addi will not like that at all) to make the entire body part of this mitten doubled (like in a tube & with 2 thumb extensions)? I ask this because it is my fingers & thumb that get cold...not my wrist arm area where it is already so thick (4-ply after it gets folded back). Thanx!

I am just wondering about using this technique for socks - I don't see any patterns for socks using the add knit, but aren't you essentially turning a heel with that thumb part? Maybe it would be too much hassle but it seems like it could work. Of course, there wouldn't be a ribbed top but I'm not sure you'd need one, right?

I guess you have to ask yourself what it is that you want to make more of... Mitts are done on the little express.. Here is a document from our group that might help you decide: These machines come in two sizes: Addi Express Professional The addi-Express Professional features 22 needles Circular knitted items - Ø 10 to 15 cm (4" to 6") Plain knitted items - 15 to 20 cm (6" to 8") wide You can use nearly all kinds of yarns, recommended yarn thickness 3.5 - 8 Best comparison for a tube with would be something that would fit around your arm or leg. You can make PREEMIE size hats with the little one. It makes hats the size of a tennis ball to give you an idea. Panels can be stitched together in order to make your items wider. Examples of what you can make with the addi express pro: socks, preemie hats, narrow scarves, mitts, fingerless gloves, cozies, pieced together afghans, piece together baby sweater. Your imagination is endless. Knit in minutes on the addi Express! Just crank and watch your creations grow before your eyes. Addi not only offers the Express machine in orignal and King-size, but also available are the stoppers and pattern books. The addi Express original features 22 needles. Sizes are listed in approximate US sizes -AND- exact metric sizes for your convenience. All addi knitting needles are manufactured to exact metric sizes. Please Note: Every addi product purchased from an Authorized addi Dealer comes with a Lifetime Warranty from any manufacturer's defect. Addi Express King Size It comes with 46 needles; which is more than twice the number of the original addi Express professional, allowing for larger pieces. Knit in minutes on the Addi Express; just crank and watch your creations grow before your eyes. It contains 5 replacement pins, 1 threading tool, 4 feel 2 clampers Even larger knitted items, will give you more possibilities. The add-Express "Kingsize" model should be mounted onto the table to ensure it remains securely in position. The machine leaves nothing to be desired. Simply turn the ideally placed handle and the "Kingsize" will begin to turn. With the 46 sturdy pins, you will be knitting trendy scarves and woolly hats within a matter of minutes and you will be knitting smart sweaters and jumpers within a few hours. Both models have an electronic row counter it enables work to be carried out with precision. Measurements: Circular knitting-35 centimeters, Flat Knitting-45 Please Note: Every addi product purchased from an Authorized addi Dealer comes with a Lifetime guarantee from any manufacturer's defect. Examples of what you can make: Afghans, sweaters, wide scarves, Child to Adult Hats, skirts, boleros, afghans just to name a few... Designed and built in Germany to exacting standards and using finest materials available Check out the LIBRARY for all kinds of great project ideas for inspiration. Yarns: It would seem like every machine, they all have their different characters. Mostly Addi does not like stiff yarn or COTTON. Bulky yarns are a challenge to work with such as chenille (but not impossible) it’s just harder on the machine. I personally have found the best acrylic yarns are a 4 ply (north American) such as: Red Heart With Love, Bernat Premium, Carons Simply Soft, Vanna’s Choice, Deb Norville Everyday, just to name a few. Natural Fibers work as well, whatever you decide to use; as long as it has a bit of a stretch to it there shouldn’t be much of a problem. Note: Red Heart Supersaver yarn is a bit of a challenge, but if you use a bit of weight and watch your stitches more, there should not be a problem. *The trick is not to go too fast.. At a steady rate of speed and watching that your stitches are knitted properly you can easily achieve making your project in no time at all. For difficult yarns, trying using light weights to hold down your project. *The average hat takes between 20 - 30 minutes to make. We have plenty of videos and patterns to help you learn from in our Library.. it is an ever growing library all achieved from our wonderful facebook group members. This is a great resource for many Addi users whos mission is to pay it forward in helping each other out in their learning abilities and passing it on to the next. It will be a great inspiration and your motivation tool for creating and achieving your ideas. Where Can You Buy A Machine? There are many places you can buy these machines in all different countries around the globe. Google is your best friend, check out prices (do your research) as they occasionally do go on sale at different prices. Just remember whoever you decide to go with, make sure they are known and have a reputation. As with anything on the internet, go with well-known places. Here is just a little bit of suggestions of places that I know have a good reputation and great service. Mary Maxim Paradis Fibers Woolery Amazon
