Not only she "wouldn't have trusted him", she "would have known he was Kira". She came to the conclusion that someone on the bus saw Ray's ID and that this same person was Kira; so if she knew Ray was following a suspect, she would have known it was him

about cctv in the bus, remember its based in the manga and it was released between 2003 and 2006. Although Japan started to use cameras in buses as early as 2000, they werent available in all buses yet, it took a while to standardize it.

I was very put off by L in beginning when I first watched this episode. After a while, I really came to just appreciate his mannerisms to the point where it’s almost endearing. I don’t know if that’s just me, or if it’s the show’s writing and presentation of the character.
